OPA548: OPA548 voltage output drop

Part Number:OPA548

HI,

I use the OPA548 for lipo battery simulator in one test equipment that i designing but i have problem to drain more then 1A on the output. My schematics is as in the reference design where i use the potenciometar to set the output voltage and curent limitation. Output voltage should be from 3V to 4,2V and current to 3A. Every time when i put load(resistor 2,7Ohm) on the output, the output voltage drop from 4.2V to 3.12V and the current is 1,4A. This lead to reboot my controler that is target since detect lower battery.

The input voltagfe level that is power the OPA548 is 10V. The gain is 10 (9K and 1K in the loop). The E/S pin it is floating.

According the specification i should be able to drain 3A constantly and 5A in peak, but i can't get to work in my case. It will be goot if i can manage to get 2A constantly in my case. I use the heat sink on the OPA548 so i do not get the termal shutdown.

The final design should be to replacve the potencimetar for output voltage set with pwm and NF filter to get analog voltage and resistors for the current limit.

What could be the reason for this instability on the output voltage and limitation of the current?

Once more to mention that i use the reference design for single power supply from the TI document for OPA548 (SBOS070C –OCTOBER 1997–REVISED JUNE 2015, page 19)

Best Regards,

Vlatko

CC1310: Proprietary FHSS implementation - ETSI EN 300 220 compliance

Part Number:CC1310

Hello,

the ETSI EN 300 220 standard specifies the sub bands K, L, M, N, P and Q in the 863 MHz to 870 MHz range. If I split each sub band into a specific number of 100 kHz bandwidth channels, and employ frequency hopping respecting the duty cycle requirements of the whole sub-band, would I have to declare my equipment as FHSS equipment and meet the limits specified in section 4.3.10 (FHSS equipment) of ETSI EN 300 220-2? Or is it possible to declare my system just as a duty cycle system?

Recommendation for gate driver

Hi,

I am designing a phase shifted full bridge dc-dc converter.

Input voltage: 400VDC

Output voltage: 650VDC

Power: 3500W

  • I need recommendations for gate driver that can be used to drive 600V MOSFETs for this dc dc converter. The PWM signals come from Max10 FPGA. Please include recommendations from non-isolated (bootstrap type) and isolated gate driver families.
  • It would be great if design recommendations for phase shifted converter with the above ratings can also be provided.

Thanks,

Lakshmi

Part Number:OPA549

Hello everyone,

I am using OPA549 as a non-inverting amplifier with a gain of 23. It was working fine till now. All of a sudden it seems to be overheated, I am using a large heat sink though.On continuity check,I found pin 8 and pin 10,11 are short circuited.Do you think the opamp is damaged now?

RTOS/TMS320F28069: How to configure TMS320F28069U clock system to run from external crystal oscillator in a SYSBIOS project

$

Part Number:TMS320F28069

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

We're using SYSBIOS and the C2000Ware_1_00_06_00 header files for a project with TMDSCNCD28069ISO. We need to run the clock source from the external 20MHz oscillator of the control card and we're having trouble getting this going. It appears that the SYSBIOS boot utility, although neat, does not offer enough flexibility to get this all setup. We think we need to use a combination of SYSBIOS and InitSysCtrl() from F2806x_SysCtrl.c of the header file package. Please confirm.

The F2806x_SysCtrl.c file includes functions for doing everything you might want to do to the clock generator. For example, there is a function there called XtalOscSel() which can be used to switch to the external 20MHz crystal source.

However when we call XtalOscSel() the processor seems to enter a fault condition as the debugger halts at an ESTOP instruction at an address that our project doesn't have source for. This happens right after execution of this instruction (SysCtrlRegs.CLKCTL.bit.XTALOSCOFF = 0) even though the code has used EALLOW just before this. Is there something else that prevents the user from running XtalOscSel() once BIOS has setup the clocks initially? Please provide an example of how to do this.

We have tried many combinations of calling this function but all fail in the same way. Here are some of the ways we've tried to call XtalOscSel():

  • Allow SYSBIOS boot module to disable watchdog and configure PLL by default, but then call XtalOscSel() from main() context. This fails as described above.
  • Allow SYSBIOS boot module to disable watchdog, but not configure PLL, and then call XtalOscSel() from main() context. This fails as described above.
  • Remove SYSBIOS boot module altogether and insert user reset hook function that disables watchdog and calls XtalOscSel(). This fails as described above.

UCC2808A-1Q1: UCC2808A-1Q1 usage problem

Part Number:UCC2808A-1Q1

My design is open loop (OUTA and OUTB duty cycle is constant 50%), the starting current peak value is small (soft start time 1ms and above), the current soft start time can only be 400us, how can we improve the soft start time?

Can you help me see the schematic diagram?

The cs pin is connected to the resistor, which will cause the power supply efficiency to decrease and some troubles later. Does the CS pin need no resistance?

thank you!

IWR6843ISK: Data convert of demo visualizer

Part Number:IWR6843ISK

Hi,

I want to convert the data of the frame of the IWR6843 but unlike the AWR1642, I don't have the following steps describe anywhere:

  • detObj.x = bytes(5,:)+bytes(6,:)*256;
  • if( detObj.x > 32767)  detObj.x - 65536;
  • detObj.x = detObj.x*invXyzQFormat;

And I have already read these files without finding the information needed to convert the data.

  • C:/ti/mmwave_sdk_03_00_00_08/packages/ti/demo/xwr68xx/mmw/docs/doxygen/html/index.html
  • C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_00_00_08\packages\ti\demo\xwr68xx\mmw\mmw_output.h

For example, I have these data output:

------- TLV 1 : Detected Pts --------
01 00 00 00
50 00 00 00  --> 5 objects
1B A3 A3 BD / D6 70 0A 3D / 7A B2 80 BC / 00 00 00 00      --> X = ? m / Y = ? m / Z = ? / V = 0 m/s
EB 46 78 3D / 00 00 00 00 / FC 29 A6 3D / 00 00 00 00         --> X = ? m / Y = ? m / Z = ? / V = 0 m/s
66 A2 72 3D / 7E 09 ED 3F / 0C 08 CD BE / 00 00 00 00       --> X = ? m / Y = ? m / Z = ? / V = 0 m/s
A6 CF 26 BF / 00 00 00 00 / 4A 0B E5 3F / 00 00 00 00         --> X = ? m / Y = ? m / Z = ? / V = 0 m/s
E4 A7 8B BE / B5 3F 33 40 / 96 3F 3D 3F / 00 00 00 00         --> X = ? m / Y = ? m / Z = ? / V = 0 m/s

But I don't understand how to convert 1B A3 A3 BD --> BD A3 A3 1B = 3181617947 in meter.

Thanks,

Kévin

TUSB8020B: SS_DN1/SS_DN2 pins

Part Number:TUSB8020B

Hi Ti

The datasheet for the pins SS_DN1 and SS_DN2 how are they supposed to interpret?

I intend to put the device into SMBus mode and have both downstream ports support superspeed. Is the SS_DN2 pin an indicator (output) indicating to a microcontroller the status of the port or a control (input) where a microcontroller can set the port type? Datasheet says it is an input but for the SS_DN1 which is the same indicator but for the other port it says it is an input/output. Should not the SS_DN1/2 pins have the same direction?

I interpret that I need to have low level on SS_DN2 on reset to set device in SMBus mode and after reset set SS_DN2 to high level to have superspeed support on downstream port 2.
Same for SS_DN1 to have it low on reset to set device PWRCTL active high and after reset set SS_DN1 to to high level to have superspeed support on downstream port 1.

Can you please clarify?

Hi,

I want to use TI WiLink8 Module (for Wi-fi functionality) on Beaglebone black (AM3358). I see that there is no driver for Wilink8 on AM335x processors. I know that there is a WiLink driver for Linux. Is it possible to port this driver to TI-RTOS?

IWR6843: IWR6843 datasheet shows two different outlines. Which one to use?

$

Part Number:IWR6843

Team,

In IWR6843 datasheet http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/iwr6843.pdf

We have detected that there are two different outlines at the end of the data sheet – ABL0161A and ABL0161B.

In the ABL0161A outline, e.g. pin F15 is missing compared to the pin diagram in section 4.1.

So we need to know what outline to use for the layout.

 The devices we will be mounting on this PCB have data code “1824” in case there has been outline changes between new and old devices.

Hello

Can i connect the image sensor IC's output data line with DIN0-DIN11 like this:

IMX291----->  913

CIS_D2----> DIN0

CIS_D3---> DIN1

...

...

...

CIS_D11--->DIN9

CIS_D0----->DIN10

CID_D1-----> DIN11

The 914's Rout are in the same sequence to connet with ISP IC.

Is there any problem about this circuit?

TPS65986: USB C port doesn't power-up connected device (continuation)

Part Number:TPS65986

Hi all,

This a continuation of issue opened 1/08/2019: https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/f/138/p/761035/2824198?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=TPS65986#2824198

"We designed board using single TPS65986, which need to communicate with unpowered Mini PC, connected to USB C, and power it as well (20V, 3A).

Our board powered by the external Power Supply (barrel jack).

Problem is that USB-C port doesn't supply 20V to Mini PC."

A. Attached are CC2 captured logs for 3 cases:

  1. Success Mini PC powering. Scenario: board is up but the Mini PC doesn’t get 20V. After that the USB C is re-connected and Mini PC is successfully powered (Reconnect success.sr)
  2. Success Mini PC powering after board power-up (Powerup success.sr)
  3. Mini PC powering fail after board power-up (Powerup fail.sr)

https://1drv.ms/f/s!AnBsc_2bz7JBg4MwUarXi-0Wvy2Jwg

It seems that there is some kind of "noise" that make the packets unreadable (it exist also in power-up fail case - Powerup fail.sr)

B. We try to remove 3.3V and re-apply it using the PS Enable pin for case when card is powered but doesn't supply 20V to Mini PC. It doesn't help. 20V doesn't rise.
