CC2630: RESET pin voltage threshold and POR threshold

$

Part Number:CC2630

I am going in detail through the CC2630 datasheet in search for the RESET_N pin voltage threshold and for the POR threshold and I am unable to find them.

I can successfully identify VIL=0.2xVDSS and VIH=0.8xVDSS for regular GPIOs in chapter 5.19 DC Characteristics, but not a similar indication for this reset pin.

The reason I'm asking for the RESET_N voltage threshold is that most of the reference designs with this part indicate a large-value RC circuit on this pin, with R=100k and C=100n, so once supply voltage is applied to the board, it will take a relatively long time for the RESET_N pin to reach its high threshold and will only do so with a very small ramp-up. I am trying to find out where on this ramp-up is it guaranteed that the micro is actually coming out of RESET, in order to estimate our start-up time.

The POR information that I am after is not so critical, but still, I would also like to find this out, and the only reference to it is in the Errata of the device (document SWRZ058C) which hints at it being 1V.

Best regards,

Cristian

ADS1299-6: CLKSEL pin connected to GPIO

Part Number:ADS1299-6

Hi, is it valid to connect the CLKSEL Pin to GPIO1 so that the clock selection can be controlled. Can the ADS switch clocks after boot or does it have to be during boot?

Does CLKSEL or the GPIO pin have any internal pullup or pulldowns?

Thanks

TMS320F28377D: Incorrect measured value on ADCINB0

Part Number:TMS320F28377D

Hi,

We are undergoing an issue on ADCINB0 pin of our TMS320F28377D.

The voltage value measured on the board is equal to 1.156V but the result of our acquisition outputs 1.204V (1644 ADC value).

In our design we are using an external reference voltage at 3V.

We have the following configuration:

  • CPU frequency: 200MHz
  • ADC Prescale: 0xF (Clock / 8.5)
  • Resolution: 12 bits
  • SOC: SW trigger / ADCINB0 / 200 as sampling windows

We monitored the acquired voltage value down to the via below the BGA so we are pretty sure of the voltage value.

Any idea ?

UCD90160: Bias Current at PMBUS_ADDR0 and PMBUS_ADDR1

Part Number:UCD90160

Hello TI Tech support.

We are having issue with the UCD90160. It seems like the Bias current is off while the device is reading the voltage at Addr0 and Addr1 to set the I2C address. We remove the decvice from the system and put it on an IC tester to measure the Bias current. The spec said it shall bias 10uA, Is it just for addr0 only, or both addr0 and addr1. When is the device supply the bias current. I connect a 41.2k ohm resistor from addr[0:1] to ground and measure the voltage at addr[0:1] and got 0V. Where if I go wrong. Please advise.

Thank you in advance.

Part Number:TPS23880

Hi,

According to datasheet and EVM suggest that using 0.255Ohm as sensing resistor. Customer is wonder to know that is there any document that discribe how this value comes from and detail design procedure beside of datasheet page5.

Customer also notice that EVM use 2 of 0.51Ohm as sensing resistor, is this for only power loss consideration?

Thank you.

LM43603: LM43603 Circuit - Critical Issue in Board Bringup

Part Number:LM43603

Hello,

I am working to bring up one of my boards which has the LM43603 regulator as the primary voltage regulator.

I am facing a vague and critical issue with LM43603 circuit, which is designed with the following specification:

Vin = 24V

Vout = 5V

Iout = 3A

Please find attached the circuit & layout details for your reference & review.

For testing the circuit, the typical load i.e., MCU and the core peripherals, shall be around 100mA to 400mA.

The following problems are observed:

1. Initially powered ON the regulator at no load. During no load, the output is stable and is 5V. Then when the load is connected, the output voltage drops to around 1.8V. I dont observe any drop in Vin or over current error in the PSU.

2. Whether with or without load, at any case once after the first switch ON, the successive power cycle does not happen immediately. Only after multiple trials at some instant the regulator gets turned ON again. As per observation, when the VOUT totally drops to 0V and then when the power cycle is done, the device shall turn ON.

3. When such power ON happens with load, then initially 5V shall come up for few ms and then drop to 1.8V again.

4. As per the circuit the default switching frequency is 500kHz. But at SW node, the frequency seem to be varying and different.

Could anyone please advice on what could be the cause of the above stated issue wrt LM43603 circuit and how this could be resolved?

Looking forward for your immediate support in this regard.

Thank you.

With Best Regards,

Sridevi

Hi,

May I know if TPS23880 have already passed Sifos testing or not?

If yes, could TI provide testing report or related document?

If not, how I convince customer that TPS23880 will pass the Sifos testing after 802.3bt officially released.

Thank you.

TPS65100: TPS65100 VCOM voltage setting equation

$

Part Number:TPS65100

Hi,

Could you tell me the correct way to set the VCOM voltage on the TPS65100?

The datasheet and evaluation kit and set the output voltage at half of Vo1 with equal value feedback resistors, but I can't see where the equation is for the to program the actual voltage when a different value is required.

Please see image of the circuit:below:

My guess is VCOM = Vo1 * (R4/ (R1 + R4)), but it could be VCOM = Vo1 * (R1/ (R1 + R4)),

I need to know the correct way because I am using a chain of resistors to set R4 to cut down on component types, but only one resistor for R1.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John.

CC1310: Sensor/Collector: Orphan but still not quite so orphan

$

Part Number:CC1310

Hi,

If a sensor is put into orphan state due to handleMaxDataFail() call, and the sensor later receives a config request from collector, the sensor will respond with a config response.

This causes the periodic sensor timer to be turned on and consequently sensor readings are transmitted with success to the collector. This causes the sensor to be partly functional, but all it does is transmitting sensor data. I also assume that the sensor still has the receiver on at all times, hence consuming a lot of power.

I would imagine that if the sensor is able to recover from orphan state due to an unexpected stimuli, the sensor state (and all included behavior) should also be updated in order to function as expected.

BQ51050B: bq51050BEVM-764 WPC Compliance Failure

Part Number:BQ51050B

The q51050BEVM-764 data sheet claims WPC Compliance. When we test compliance using a CATS2 system (NOK9) the EVM out of the box fails test Part 3: Req #57. The received power minus 350mW should be less than or equal to power transmitted less than or equal to power received.

We went back and tested the EVM because our board fails the same test.

Do you know about this problem and does anyone have an explanation or fix? Thanks.

Part Number:MSP430F479

Hi,

I am trying to send one byte of data over the UART at a baud rate of 115200 Hz. I am using the BM70 ble module to transfer the data and the baud rate of the BM70 module is also 115200 Hz. I have connected the TX and RX pins of MSP430 of the RX and TX pins of BM70 module. I am just putting the byte I want to send in the Txbuffer of the MSP430 to see the data without using any interrupt. But when I send the data over the UART, it sends garbage data which I can see from the mobile app. Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong here?

Thanks

CDC3RL02: Can I tie VLDO to an external 1.8V supply?

Part Number:CDC3RL02

We made a mistake and tied the clock request lines to VLDO thinking it was always on.  Now I see you're not supposed to do that.  Is it possible to power VLDO from an external 1.8V supply to force it to turn on?  I tried just tying a 10k resistor from VLDO to another 1.8V supply but that didn't work.  Long term we'll change the board. I'm just trying to get it to work in the short term.

Thank you

ADS1299: Referential montage input filters

$

Part Number:ADS1299

I am reading section 10.2.2 of the ADS1299 datasheet, and I am not sure what size components to use when designing a circuit for a referential montage. If the input impedance needs to be >10megaohm (as per table 29), does that mean that we make each channel's input resistor at least 10 megaohms, and then choose the value of C to set our bandwidth (i.e. RC = 2pi*f)? Because all the channels are now connected to the reference, does that mean they are in parallel, and is Rfilt (in figure 73) going to change the cutoff?

Thanks for any assistance.

Part Number:TAS5755M

Hi Team,
TAS5755 0x51 and 0x52 has three mixer each.
The GUI can set the max value is 15.9.

Does this mean 15.9dB on each input? And this mixer can be used for gain increasing if volume is too small. is that right?

CCS/CC3220: Massive Delays in HTTP or SNTP requests using slnetutils

$

Part Number:CC3220

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

Note: All my times are measured against the windows clock so not terribly accurate...

So the titles says it all. I've tried using the slnetutilities httpclient and the sntp client in a few different forms. First, I converted it over to work with no rtos and tried http and sntp requests. Every now and then a request would go through in the expected sub 5 second range, usually within a couple hundred milliseconds. But most attempts would take upwards of 12-22 seconds!!!

I assumed that the problem was using slnetutils without an RTOS. Perhaps the lack of servicing of sl_Task I thought. So I moved over to the FreeRTOS Out_of_box example code and created my own application. I created three tasks, one outputing to console every 64 ms, one at 200 ms and the third peformed sntp and http requests ever 60 seconds.

Every now and then a request would go through quickly. Usually the first one or two requests. Then after that, all the requests took over 12 seconds, many upwards of 17 and even 22 seconds.

I've now tried the same thing with the simple httpget example using FreeRTOS and TIRTOS, both with the same really disappointing results.

Can somebody point to something I've done wrong? I have attached the platform.c file that I modified to get the httpget_CC3220SF_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_gcc project (Changes are lines 82-88 and 445-446).
