Part Number:TPS563201

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi Team,

The plot below is TPS563201's Tina simulation of start up.
The soft start value is about 455 us.

Below is start up waveform on tps563201 EVM user's guide.
The soft start value is 1 ms.

The simulation value does not fit the measurement result.
What's the differences between the simulation model and real circuit?

Thanks!

BQ78350: Questions about overcurrent protection setting of bq78350 and selection of sense resistor

Part Number:BQ78350

  I  use  bq78350 + bq7692000  + bq76200  and the  high-side  driving method  to  immplemented  my design.

I know that I  can set the value of OCC threshold  for my overcurrent protection.

But  unlike the setting of  AOLD (overload protection) and ASCD( short circuit protection),I can directly set the current value  rather than set a value related the voltage of the  sense resistor.

Overcurrent  protection setting  isn't related  to the value of sense resistor of bq76920  ?

When I  choose  resistors of different value as the sense resistor,  Does the current value read from bq78350 differs ? And different sense resistor causes different  accuracy?

AWR1642: mmWave Radar on AWR164: linker error: "program will not fit into available memory."

Part Number:AWR1642

Dear Officer,

We are developing the mmWave radar based on AWR642. Currently we try to development some new algorithm and build as part of mmWave alg lib, but face the memory size issue.

Basically we put all the alg source code into:

C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_01_02_00_05\packages\ti\alg\mmwavelib\src

When calling our alg API from application, we got this error:

<Linking>

"../cmd/dss_mmw_linker.cmd", line 40: error #10099-D: program will not fit into available memory. run placement with alignment fails for section ".fastCode" size 0x13fa0 . Available memory ranges:
L1PSRAM size: 0x4000 unused: 0x4000 max hole: 0x4000

I got questions:

1. When the agl API is not called from application, we don't have the above issue,  So this agl code/lib is only loaded when staring to be called by the API? (where is it loaded to when calling?)

2. what is the exact meaning of "program will not fit into available memory.'? i.e. what is the "available memory" size I can use? and how to verify if my code is over this "available memory" size already?

2. Do we have way to increase the .fastCode size setting in linker file to avoid the above issue? What is maximum memory size can be supported in .fastCode?

3. Any other suggestion to avoid this issue?

Thanks and best regards

He Wei

Hi,

I did the following test and find out that using CCS ubuntu version cause no UART log problem.

The same steps work fine on Windows and macOS.

My steps:

1. Install CCS on Ubuntu 18.04/Windows

2. From CCS "Getting Started" page to download example for and import project

3. Build one of the example application code

4.  Run->Load->Select program to load-> tof_initiator

5. using minicom to open ttyACM0 port

6. Press the reset button on CC2640R2 board

7. The console window should output something. (It works fine on Windows, but nothing on Ubuntu)

Environment:

OS: Ubuntu 18.04

CCS version: Version: 8.2.0.00007

TI platform: CC2640R2

SimpleLink CC2640R2 Software Development Kit: SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK_2.30.00.28

Example code:

  ../blestack/tof_initiator

  ../blestack/tof_responder

  ../blestack/aoa_sender

  ../blestack/aoa_receiver

Please help on this and tell me what logs or information you need so that I can get for you.

TPS92512: Problems with PWM Dimming

Part Number:TPS92512

Hi
Currently, our customers are developing the following LED Module using TPS92512.

Vin: 41Vdc, Load: 12 lines Serial (3x12 = 36V)

PWM dimming is changing LED brightness and color temperature.

However, if the PWM frequency is set to 6kHz or less, the LED brightness and color temperature change normally, but audible noise is generated.

If the PWM frequency is set to 20kHz or higher, audible noise will disappear.

However, the LED blinks at certain intervals.

The actual PWM Dimming frequency is 20kH.

From the datasheet, most of them seem to be designed to be less than 1kH at 250Hz.

Could the corresponding PWM frequency be a problem?

Is there anything I need to review? Or can you recommend another IC?

Part Number:TMP400

Hello,

My customer has a question about TMP400.

[Q]

Please tell me how to mask Remote Sensor's Alarm(RLOW/RHIGH) when Remote Sensor is not in use.

[Expected behavior]
Do not use the Remote sensor, measure the temperature on the Local side.
Use the ALERT terminal to detect that the Local temperature exceeds the threshold.

[Current operation]
D+ and D- terminals are directly connected.
When reading the Status register (RD Addr 02h), the RLOW bit is always set and the ALERT terminal can not be cleared.

Linux/TDA2E-17: Encode Fail in Different resolution

Part Number:TDA2E-17

Tool/software: Linux

Dear Sirs:

We are using VSDK 03_04_00_00 in developing our usecase.  CAPTURE(IPU)=>ENCODE(IPU)=>IPCOUT(IPU)=>IPC_IN(A15)=>NULL(A15).

We are using TDA2E-17 CPU, and create 2 channels from CAPTURE and hence the encoder is also 2channels. 1st channel is 1280x720 and the 2nd channel is 640x480.

When startup the usecase. We sometimes see the following error messages:

[HOST] [IPU2 ] 65.012810 s: Assertion @ Line: 1809 in links_ipu/iva/iva_enc/encLink_common.c: chId == pReqObj->InFrameList.buffers[i]->chNum : failed !!!"

We search the forum for the related issues and we found the followings:

e2e.ti.com/.../607938

Only one has mention that is fixed if modify the register class.

  My question is:

What is the meaning of outQueInfo->numAllocPools inside the source "src/links_ipu/iva/iva_enc/encLink_common.c"?

If we also modify like that way to force the pool to be 1, will the encoded result still be okay in the output and what could be the side effects if modify in this way?

/ckhsu

Hi,

I`d like to design a 2 channel audio amplifier with 2 individual subwoofers.

The speakers i`d like to use are 6 ohm at 20 watt(per speaker). The subwoofers are rated at 6 ohm and 50 watt(per woofer).

The THD should not be more than 1%.It should be able to take only analog inputs only. For control mechanism,I`d like to use knobs.

Someone please point me to a Design.

I`m a student,Kindly help.

TM4C129ENCPDT: Reset by setting registers

$

Part Number:TM4C129ENCPDT

Team,

is there a generic way to reset the device by setting certain registers?

Background

My customer uses a Segger debugger. There is a command that they would like to emulate in their boundary scan. They want to set theses registers "by hand". The command is described in chapter „6.9.2.1 Type 0: Normal“ on page 65 in the document attached below:

6.9.2.1 Type 0: Normal
This is the default strategy. It does whatever is the best way to reset the target device.
If the correct device is selected in the debugger this reset strategy may also perform some
special handling which might be necessary for the connected device. This for example is
the case for devices which have a ROM bootloader that needs to run after reset and before
the user application is started (especially if the debug interface is disabled after reset and
needs to be enabled by the ROM bootloader).
For most devices, this reset strategy does the same as reset strategy 8 does:
1. Make sure that the device halts immediately after reset (before it can execute any
instruction of the user application) by setting the VC_CORERESET in the DEMCR .
2. Reset the core and peripherals by setting the SYSRESETREQ bit in the AIRCR .
3. Wait for the S_RESET_ST bit in the DHCSR to first become high (reset active) and then
low (reset no longer active) afterwards.
4. Clear VC_CORERESET .

Segger does not provide any background information about this.

Thanks!

UCC28180: UCC28180: Isense noise related failure

$

Part Number:UCC28180

Good morning,

I've developed a 3.5kW PFC using the UCC28180 controller IC for an audio amplifier. Due to the dynamic loading nature of the amp, the SOC and PCL of the IC are overridden by using a low value of sense resistor. In this case I am using 4x 8mR sense resistors, to set the SOC at 129, as the PFC peak currents can reach to 90A for a couple of cycles during dynamic loading. During normal operation the loading is less than 30Arms.

I am now having a problem which I think is noise related in the Isense line. Under normal loading as I increase the load gradually to just beyond 15Arms, I can see a fuzz start to appear at the top of the sine wave current. If I keep increase the PFC fails, short circuiting the FETs. I used to think it had something to do with the miller oscillations in the FETS, but that has now been suppressed by slowing them down and the problem still persists.

I suspect the noise in the track coming from the sense resistor to the IC is causing some instability to the controller. Please could someone have a look at it and suggest a possible fix.

The long blue tracks below are the current sense line feeding back to controller IC U15. I was initially using BAT54 negative clamp diode. Having read on data sheet that the voltage drop needs to be between -0.4 and -1.1V, I realised the schottky voltage drop is much lower. So i replaced it with LS4148. It offered some improvement I think as I was able to load the power supply some more before I started seeing the fuzz.

I look forward to some feedback. Thank you.

Regards

Pravin

AWR1642BOOST: Uniflash Working Mechanism

Part Number:AWR1642BOOST

HI Team,

I am working on AWR1642ES1.o device. For my requirement i want to flash the .bin file into the flash memory so that recently flashed image should boot up after the reset.

When I flash the .bin file using Uniflash tool i can see in the serial console that the image is booting up.But if i flash the same image using QSPIFLASH my image is not booting up.

QSPIFLASH means using CCS debugger i am loading application  where my application uses QSPIFlash_singlewrite() api to write into flash memory at memory location 0xc0000000+0x80000(metaimage-2).

My concern is what exactly Uniflash is doing while flashing it to the flash memory?

I want to know how UNiflash tool is interpreting the .bin file?

Please assist me in these.

TIA.

hello sir

i was searching for the BLDC motor driver IC for both the cases (a) sensing the rotor position by sensing the hall effect sensor and (b) sensing the Back EmF of the motor

i came across the link :

where i need to enter control I/F, supply voltage, gate drive, and rating which is either automotive or catalog. i wanted to know exactly what ratings i need to enter.

it would be very helpfull if i can get the clarification on ths
