Looking for guidance on charging a USB-C host

Hi,

My customer has an existing UART bridge between to USB hosts, one of which is a tablet.

I have been tasked with adding a power solution to charge the tablet, assuming the tablet is USB-C.

I have been looking at the devices available from Texas Instruments, but being new to USB-C am having difficulty seeing which chips (if any) are intended for this purpose (as opposed, for example to being intented to go inside the tablet).

I would be grateful for any assistance in narrowing down which chips are suitable for the purpose.

Thank you.

I am very interested in am5726, and find the design files of AM572x Evaluation Module,   and have downloded the PCB design files( AM57x EVM PCB (Rev. C )

When I try to open the PCB file( TI_AM572x_PM_RevA3.brd 、TI_AM572x_LM_RevA2.brd,etc) using Candence SPB16_5,an error occurs., as follows:

How can I open these PCB file?
Any suggestions will be appreciated!

TLC59401: About GS register

Part Number:TLC59401

Hi Team,

Our customer would like use Grayscale PWM function so they set GS Register value.

After that, they control ON/OFF of LED by the BLANK pin.

We understand that if BLANK pin is high, GS counter is reset but GS Register isn’t reset.

Therefore, we understand that they haven’t to re-set the GS register if they use same brightness of LED after BLANK pin is toggled.

Is my understanding correct?

Part Number:TXB0108

Hello E2E,

Our customer has plan to use the C2000(TMS320F28027) and TXB0108 for new board.
However, a problem occurred in the circuit. The low level between C2000 and the level shifter is 0.6V.
Both of the datasheets VOLs  are max 0.4V.

Though they are communicating, characteristics that are not specs have appeared, so customers will stop diverting to other designing products.

Why are not 0.4V?

ACGUY

Hi support member,

The datasheet shows that output current of absolute maximum ratings is Max 120mA.

Does this mean that each channel must be within 15mA (120mA / 8ch), if all 8 channel is used?

Or is 120mA for one channel?

Hello Sirs,

There's a problem for using advance retimer ex: DS125DF  and DS110DF .(Pin mode)

If TX_DIS pull down . Then output will nothing not same as datasheet (normal operation)

If TX_DIS pull up . Both channel will be actived such as DS110DF111.

Pls help to clarify this pin function. TKS ~

CCS/TMS320F28379S: C2000 Resolver Interface Software Library - resolver_algo_Float() timing

Part Number:TMS320F28379S

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

we are using the resolver interface software library like in the TI/IDDK_PM_Servo_F2837x example and have a problem with the timing of the library function resolver_algo_Float().

We call the resolver ISR with 160 kHz (6.25 µs) and thus also the resolver_algo_Float(), we have measured the timing of the ISR and have seen that it usually needs 1.6 µs, but every 16th is longer. Which means it needs up to 7 µs and this is longer than the timing from the ISR!

We also measured the timing from the functions:

resolver_algo_Float() ( 15x 500 ns and the 16th 5945 ns )

resolver_PostProcess() ( 700 ns which is also only every 16th active )

We are using TMS320F28379S CPU with the following compiler optimization for our resolver.c

C2000 Compiler / Optimization:

--opt_level = 1 (Local Optimizations)

--opt_for_speed = 5 (highest speed)

--fp_mode = relaxed

--fp_reassoc = on

Hi Team

Now I have some question from  Customer.

This Question for    OCD1, OCD2, AOLD  Protection Delay time Accuracy.

But i can not found this Protection Delay Time Accuracy.

[ Question ]

Could you tell us  these  OCD1, OCD2, AOLD  Protection Delay time Accuracy ??

   For instance   Typ Value ( =  Setting Value )   ± 10% ??  or 5% ??

I understand this Delay time is Device Spec only,   actually  Protection delay time need  with FET On time and delay other time.

But Customer want to know this device spec .

 Thanks and Regard

MSP430F6736: Connection of Unused Pins - Why switching unused Px.y to output direction?

$

Part Number:MSP430F6736

Hello,

could anyone tell me, why an unused pin has to be configured as an output? (Stated in the family user guide - Connection of Unused Pins) I think, an input with e.g. an internal pullup should be fine, too. I assume that there would be a reason to do so, but I don’t know why.

Or let's ask it in a different way: Am I allowed, to configure unused and open pins as input with internal pullup?

Thanks in advance!

Part Number:ADS54J54

Hello,

My customer has a question about ADS54J54.

[Q]

Please tell me how to configure for unused SYNCbCDP/M pins.

My ideas are as follows.

<My ideas>

* SYNCb CD EN register = 0 (SYNCb CD input buffer disabled)

* Pull-up SYNCbCDP pin with resistor and pull-down SYNCbCDM pin with resistor (like LVDS fail safe circuit)

Is my ideas correct ?

DRV8701: PH Damaged

Part Number:DRV8701

Hi,

I've been testing the robustness of the driver and I've been impressed so far.  There's only one thing I've had go wrong a couple of times and I'm not sure what causes this.

The PH stops working/ fails if I go from 0-1 or 1-0 while EN is 1.  It's not instant, I can switch it 10-15 times before failure but eventually one direction doesn't drive and the other does.  The chip does get quite hot when the nonfunction direction is selected.

I would imagine the internal chopping should start it up slow, which it does but it still seems to damage PH.

Thank you,

Mat
