How to "Build/Run Instructions for Codec Engine Examples"

$

I followed this link

http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/ce/latest_2_x/examples/build_instructions.html

to build Codec Engine examples.

all passed and complete. No error to be seen, but there is no /bin/ti_platform_* in all examples are produced after "make"

Don't know where to find executable files.

The source code I am using is DVSDK ti-dvsdk_omapl138-evm_04_03_00_06/codec-engine_2_26_02_11

It is for omapl-138.

Anyone can help?

Thank you

Joe

tmp006 pcb design insights

$

Hi, we recently design a pcb with the tmp006 installed.  We followed the guidelines for installing tmp006 into a pcb (or so we believe see below for details).  We have good communication (no problems with I2C), but the signal is going in the opposite direction that it should (hotter shows colder, and vice versa) and is very wobbly.  The die temperature seems to be showing correctly, the problem is only with the IR calculated temperature.  We also have an Adafruit TMP006 module which works without any problems - so we know what 'working' looks like.  The difference between our PCB design and theirs are minor, and we can't quite figure out why our signal is so much worse.  See the images below for a description of the top and bottom of the pcb the tmp006 is installed on.

We recently removed the tmp006 chip from the the Adafruit board and installed a new tmp006, just to see if the problem is that we are doing a poor job soldering the unit - but the results still looked very good using our solder job.  So we are pretty sure at this point it's a difference in the design of the pcb.

Note - We know that c2 (DRDY) pin should be pulled up - we had installed a 10k resistor since.  Also, we've added an additional .1nF cap closeby, but that didn't seem to help either.  Also, (in case you're wondering) the I2C address 0x42 (ADR1 - GND and ADR0 - SDA).

The size of the ground planes separating the tmp006 from the rest of the pcb is: the inner ground plane is 4.5 x 4.5, while the outer ground plane is 6.8 x 5.8mm.  When a temperature measurement is being taken, none of the nearby traces oscillate.  We are using an arduino and Adafruit's example TMP006 sketch for testing.  We do not have any components nearby generating IR signal which could cause interference.

Any ideas based on looking at the layout on what our problem might be, or any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Greg

How can you set slow clock (32768 Hz) accuracy for CC2564 chip? I did not find any commands from the wiki page.

Can the TRF7970A EVM be used for jamming 13.56MHz Frequency

I am apart of a research team at Tennessee State University and we are looking into the security of RFID and NFC at the 13.56MHz Frequency range and we are looking for a piece of hardware that would be able to just send out noise at 13.56MHz to block communication because RFID tags. Would that be possible with this hardware?

TPS62080A Snooze Mode

I have customer having the issue below.  I need some suggestions on how to resolve this issue:

I have been chasing down a 150mV 16KHZ ripple on my 3.0V supply. The supply is sourced by a TPS62080A.  My load is around 100mA. I found the problem was the snooze mode, disabling that dropped the ripple to <10mV. My question is at 100mA load, why  is snooze mode kicking in? Or is that noise expected at any load?

Mode pin is pulled high when I see the problem. My understanding is by enabling it, it will only snooze when the load is light, which it is not right now. The load is light when the CPU goes to sleep (it currently is not in sleep) and so I wanted to have the snooze mode enabled because eventually the CPU will spend 99% of its time in sleep, so wanted better efficiency at light loads.

Does anyone know what the macro __HG_WORDS_ID__ is defined as? I can't find it anywhere in any documentation, and compiling with --preproc_only doesn't help.

CSL Libraries and Bitwise C code

My name is Jeff Moran and I'm a sophmore at WPI here in freezing boston. I been successful in putting the LED demo in CCS 5.5 and currently I have been analying the code to see how it interfaces with the ezdsp5535 usb stick.  I have gotten pretty far in understand most of the c code but when it comes to the csl libraries I'm having a problem understanding the code.  I have provided and example and I be very appreciated if one of the engineers could tell me where to look to interpret the code if there is some manual it would be great.  HERE IS THE CODE:

/* the Field INSert (Token) macro */

#define CSL_FINST(reg, PER_REG_FIELD, TOKEN)

\

    CSL_FINS((reg), PER_REG_FIELD, CSL_##PER_REG_FIELD##_##TOKEN)

/* the Field EXTract (Raw) macro */

#define CSL_FEXTR(reg, msb, lsb)

\

    (((reg) >> (lsb)) & ((1 << ((msb) - (lsb) + 1)) - 1))

IF anyone can shed some light on this code I be appreciated.  Thanks in advance  BTW most of this code can be found in the clr.h header

ACF2101 capacitor matching

The ACF2101 dual switched integrator has one internal capacitor per integrator.

The internal capacitors are specced at 100pF, 2% with a tempco of -25 +/-25  ppm/°C.

Is there any matching data available for these two capacitors?

Also, do you have any other parts with precision matched capacitors?

ez430-rf2500 xin xout pins

Hi

I am fairly new to micro controllers.I have been trying to use the pins Xin and Xout for general purposes like interrupts etc.

I have not got them working till  now.I would like to know if the problem is with my code or if its not possible to use them at all.

I have got the other pins working on interrupts. So its not a problem with different interrupt functions being called.

Thanks a lot for your inputs.

Dear Folks,

I am using CCS5.5 and F28069 and F28M36x boards using XDS100V2 debugger and same cables, Before two days I could successfully connect both the boards. But now I not am able to connect F28M36x I get the error,

IcePick_C_0: Error connecting to the target: (Error -154 @ 0x0) One of the FTDI driver functions used to write data returned bad status or an error. (Emulation package 5.1.232.0)

I have cross checked the target configuration file and other solutions mentioned before in the forum like repowering the kit and restarting CCS as well as PC none of the solutions have worked so far.

Color pattern projection using lightcrafter

$

Hi, All,

I am trying to project color pattern sequence by lightcrafter because I want use color encoded pattern sequences to do 3D ranging. Projected images like the followings:

It seems lightcrafter cannot do this via internal pattern sequence mode -- dlpu006c.pdf. The only possible method is via External patterns. I think this is a very big limit.

My question is 1) how to project color patterns via external pattern mode ? how to setup system and any example code ?

                         2) can TI provide any supports on projecting color sequence via internal sequence mode?

ZigBee Light Link Development Kit source code

Hi,

I'm looking for the source code for the Osram / TI lamps in the new (Dec 2013) version  of the "ZigBee Light Link Development Kit".

I have found a SampleLight - EB - Router project in the SampleApp workspace and that has a "CC2530EB" and a "PMP4712" target. Neither of these seem to match the hardware of the Osram / TI lamp in the ZLL Development Kit. The schematic of that lamp van be found here : http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/swrr129

The kit is described here : http://www.ti.com/tool/cc2530zdk-zll and here http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/ZStack-Lighting_Kit

Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

Thanks, Ivo

Toggle frequency on GPIO TMS320F28335

$

Hi,

I've configured SYSCLKOUT of TMS320F28335 at 150MHz. I've tried to toggle a GPIO but, to my surprise, it only toggles at 4MHz (4,17 MHz i've measured)

I know that SYSCLKOUT is correctly configured because i have interruptions and PWMs running at the correct frequency.

Why is there so much difference between SYSCLKOUT frequency and the toggling frequency?

Thank you.

cdce72010 gui

I am trying to use the gui to create a set of registers that I can use for my own app. From what I can see the registers are not being created correctly. If I set the input selection to LVDS for the ref clock I should get bits 0 and 1 set of reg 0. But they both stay 0. The value I get is this REG0=003002B0. Maybe I am reading it wrong so if someone can help that would be great.

Thanks
