SMARTRFTM-STUDIO: Different behavior with different versions of SmartRF Studio 7 and CC26xx Configuration / Register View

Part Number:SMARTRFTM-STUDIO

Hello,

SmartRF Studio 7 seems to allow me to configure the following parameters for a custom target

IO Configuration, Device, Package, Front-end and Output Power

What about some of the other parameters like CAP ARRAY delta configuration, LF Clock Source and such ?  We tried to load some code on the CC26xx to disable the internal CAP ARRAY but that doesn't seem to take effect ? Is the configuration loaded on to CC26xx via the application load, used when running continuous tx/ rx tests with SmartRF Studio 7 ? Is there a register view for SmartRF Studio7 for CC26xx so I can verify all the configuration registers ?

Also, my customer has observed that the RF output of the same board with same firmware load is different with different versions of the SmartRF Studio 7 ? The specific versions he is using are version 2.2.0 and 2.6.0 - why might that be ?

Thanks,

Padmaja

TPS65150: IC Does not start up properly and faults out.

Part Number:TPS65150

So I've been working on this IC for far too long. I'm making a development board for a 5" TFT LCD.

The IC starts up and the 5v buck regulator starts just fine, but VGL only goes to -5v. It then faults out if I have faulting enabled since it never reaches the full -10v. This prevents VGH and Vcom from ever starting as well. I can disable the fault by removing C8 in the schematic below, which I've done, but then VGL just stays at -5v.

So somehow the IC knows that it's not at the full -10v but the system isn't responding. I've gone through two pcbs with the layout, the first was a 2 layer which wasn't laid out very well. The second is a 4 layer with a much better layout but the behavior is the same. I even checked every single component when I made the 4 layer board to ensure I had no faulty parts. I've also tried multiple TPS65150 IC's

I've included my full schematic below and the only difference is C8 was jumped and is no longer there disabling the fault, and I'm using a 2.2uF cap wherever it says 4.7uF. The power requirements are only 20mA for the 5v buck, and 250uA for the -10v line and +15v lines. I also attached some external resistors to simulate the loads so the charge pumps will operate. Is there anything wrong with my schematic? I'm really at the end of my rope with all of the debugging. I'll try to upload a snapshot of the power on sequence later.

CCS/MSP432P401R: No source available for "0xfffffff8" during debug

Hi,

I'm continuing my effort to port the "CC3100BOOST_MQTT-TwitterLED_MSP432P401R" example to GNU C++ and I have been able to get it to successfully build, but when I attempt to run a a debug session to load the code, I am getting a No source available for "0xfffffff8" error and the session does not show the run arrow I've tried this with a number of projects but I am not getting anywhere past this.  Is there something that I should look at?

In this latest attempt, I just imported a fresh version of the MQTT project and changed it to the GNU compiler.  I'm thinking I am missing something here and need assistance.

Cheers,

Jon

DRV8701: DRV8701: use in 1/2 bridge mode for 2 motors?

$

Part Number:DRV8701

Hi TI team!!!

I saw this question in the support forum before but the main difference is that I don't want to use both motors at the same time.   I'm using DRV8701P motor driver.   Since I want to keep OC detection (through the shunt resistor tied to SP and SN pins), both motors were connected to VM: one from SH1 pin to VM and the second from SH2 pin to VM.   As I said before, only one will work at the time.   I saw control interface table (truth table) and it is possible to do it (in theory), but for some reason, when the input pins (IN1, IN2) go low (High-Z impedance at the output) an indicator leds in parallel with the motors turn on.   It is strange to me since it is supposed to have high impedance to VM or floated, and no current must flow (not the enough current to turn on the led).  Am I using the IC correctly?  Is it possible to use this IC in this way?   Unfortunately I can't change this component.

Thanks in advance for your help.

DLPC6401: I2C communication with DLPC6401

Part Number:DLPC6401

Hi there,

I'm trying to communicate with the DLPC6401 using an Arduino UNO.

I can scan the i2c line and detect the device at address 0x1a (0x34 >> 1).

What I'd like to do is a resizing of the displayed resolution.

In the datasheet, it seems to be associated to the Preset Input or Output Resolution register at address 0x50 (see the table below).

The point is when I write 0x0c to the 0x50 register in order to have a 640 x 480 resolution, nothing change. It keeps having the 0x00 default value (1280 x 800 resolution) when I read the register back.

Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

Kind regards,

Adding a ground-to-ground cap near a TL431??

$

I've seen two designs where a TL431 is used to regulate a flyback SMPS. Near the TL431, there was a SMT capacitor going from ground-to-ground. Yes, the same net on each pin of the cap as best as I can measure.

In one case the cap was not stuffed, and on the other the cap was 10nF.

I've not seen this before, and I'm not sure what this cap would be doing. A cap was a 0402 to 0805 package with short traces going to a via on each side, so I can't imagine any substantial voltage difference between the terminals of the cap (and what else would the cap do?). This is a multi-layer board with internal planes, so it's hard to know if something clever might happen in an internal layer.

Has anyone else seen this? What could be the purpose of a capacitor in this location?

CCS/TMS320F28335: Combine more than two boards, is it possible ?

Part Number:TMS320F28335

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi community members,

I'm planning to use the ezdsp F28335 for an "MMI" applications (basically an inverter with many switches).

I was wondering, is it possible to combine three ezdsp F28335 boards using SCI?

Example,

1) ezdsp1 handles "Phase 1" signals. (ADC, ePWM1-6)

2) ezdsp2 handles "Phase 2" signals. (ADC, ePWM1-6)

3) ezdsp3 handles "Phase 3" signals. (ADC, ePWM1-6)

I "assume" it is possible since there are few pins used for SCI such as GPIO 29, 28, 14, 23, 18, 15, 9, 19..then again I'm not sure. Need some input from the experts.

Is there an example of that kind of application?

Thanks a lot

RTOS/TM4C1294NCPDT: Problem saving new IP Address

Part Number:TM4C1294NCPDT

Tool/software:TI-RTOS

Problem trying to save a new IP Address using the config.c CfgSave routine. i have created a new IP address successfully and am using the example save routine show on page 52 of the NDK v2.25 user guide. My Save routine returns a byte count but the pBuf is not being filled.

I'm somewhat confused if hCfg in the AddEntry routine picks up the new IP address I furnish it in the *phCfgEntry argument. That's what I am sending to the CfgSave routine.

Any examples of a working add new address/save address would be extremely appreciated.

The CC1310 what i have integrated is Rev a version and it wont work for the frequency range of 433 Mhz but as for the discussion in the forum they say like it will work in the Rev b version . How to order Rev B version and what is the part number of that .

AWR1642BOOST: how to calculate data size in AWR1642BOOST capture-demo, and if the tx and rx channel can be changed

$

Part Number:AWR1642BOOST

Hi,

I found that in the AWR1642 capture demo, there is Memort capture procedure and Streaming over LVDS

Memory capture procedure introduces how to use CCS to get data from L3, the start address is gFrameAddress[0], data size is 0x20000

Streaming over LVDS introduces how to get data through LVDS

my question is:

1. how to calculate the data size?

2.the"Streaming more than 1 channel" is mentioned in Streaming over LVDS, can I change the reg like “channelCfg ” in the Memory capture procedure? in other words, if the capture_demo_script can be changed to add more rx or tx channel.

3.if I change the  rx or tx channel in memory capture procedure, how can I calculate the data size? just like question 1

Dear Sir

We use 964 for 4 camera in Line-Interleave forwarding and cpu's frame buffer will be overflow

1. If we use  964 for Line interleave format ,May I know line blanking time is decided by Camera side or 964 side ??

2. if decide by 964 side ,may I know how to modify ?

3. If line blanking time can't be modified ,How could I solve this issue ?? (use interrupt??)

PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X: Multiple bin files in SRAM

$

Part Number:PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X

Hi,

I am using beaglebone black (AM335x) for bare metal programming.

I am booting using Peripheral booting procedure (UART) and  picocom -b 115200 /dev/ttyUSB0 --send-cmd "sx -vv".

I am able to send my single bin file to SRAM (0x402F0400). Which gets executed as soon as the transfer is complete.

I want to transfer 2 bin files at (0x402F0400) and at (0x402F1400) (keeping overflow in mind) and then transfer the execution to the second image. at (0x402F1400)

How do i transfer both the images in one shot at the start ????

Because in case of one by one transfer BBB starts executing as soon as first transfer is complete ? <-- Same is said in reference manual

Sourav Punoriyar
