CC1352R: IPC design: pls. explain

Part Number: CC1352R

Hi,

two questions on your IPC config doc:

- you mention RX_TX BIAS configuration. What exactly is meant by that?
  Both Murata asnd Johansson are pin compatible, bu't they have different bias-config; so I'm unsure how to deal.

- you recommend to use a SPDT to put both bands on one antenna. In practise, how do you connect external antennas for sub-G and 2.4 to one SMA? Designing a PCB-antenna for both freqs is usual, but with one SMA its strange

thx

ADS122U04: GPIO0 and GPIO1 termination in unused case

Part Number: ADS122U04

Hi Team,

I don't plan to use GPIO0 and GPIO1 in my application and I want to tie the GPIO0 and GPIO1 to DVDD or DGND directly.

Is it OK to do that? Or do we need to put 1~2kohm resister between GPIOX and (DVDD or DGND)?

Part Number: TLV760

Hi,

customer likes the TLV76050 but is now looking for sth similar with negative output. It should replace a discrete switching regulator

Key specs:

Vin: 15-24V, usually, but could go over 30V at transient events.

Vout: -5V

PSRR, thermal shut down, etc. is nice to have but not needed.

Low cost is very important.

Do we have anything?

Thanks

Part Number: MSP430G2553

Hi,

I am using MSP430 in my design. I would like to use micro controller as a LIN slave node. As per the datasheet, micro controller supports this.  Do you have any application note or sample code for the same?

If not, could you please share an UART example. I can use that as a starting point and develop.

Many thanks in advance.

Compiler/TMS320F28377D: Copy flash code to ram issue using BINIT and table() operator

$

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Hi,

Background:

I was trying to run my code from flash memory but some of the functions were being executed from ram for better performance. In the cmd file, table operator and BINIT was used and I hope the auto copy feature of bootloader would be able to copy the code from flash to ram during boot time.

Problem description:

When the debugger was connected, the project worked fine. The compiler built the project without any error messages, and after debug button was clicked, the debugger can take the application to main automatically and the code could safely run from there after I pressed run.

However, if I disconnect the debugger and press the reset button to reset the device, the program stuck. I have a led flashing code in main() to indicate the program was running well, but leds were not flashing. If I power down the device and power up again, program would not running still.

Possible cause:

I saw a thread posted on the forum with similar issue. In their case, the cause was that the code that needs to be copied was too large, so that it took bootloader too long to copy it and the watchdog was tripped. If that is also the cause for my problem, I have a question that I wish you guys could help me with.

In the boot28.asm, I can see that if binit and table operator are used, there are codes that will be used to copy the relative functions from flash to ram during boot time. If watchdog is the cause of this issue, than why in my case the watchdog was not tripped when the debugger was connected and the device was being debugged? Is that strange that the watchdog only trips when debugger was disconnected or the device was not being debugger?

CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL: CC3220SF -Implementing Provisioning task for MQTT client Application

Part Number: CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL

Hello Everyone,

I am working on CC3220SF Launchpad.

One of our Application needs MQTT  (Publish and Subscribe data to and from cloud) .I am building my application on MQTT client example provided (mqtt_client_CC3220SF_LAUNCHXL_freertos_ccs).

But the issue is this example has the AP SSID hard coded in the firmware(network_if.h).

For my application i need the solution to provision the device to a particular network from outside without hard coding the SSID in the code.

I am referring the SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi® Enabled Electronic Smart Lock reference design which has provisioning task and all remaining features.

How to add the provisioning task to this MQTT client application?

LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1: UART_read does NOT block

$

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1

Dear,

is there any problem with UART_read and CC2642?

I am trying a simple code with default uartParams.

I do UART_init(), UART_Params_init() UART_open and UARTLog_init() with no problems.

Handle name is simply "uart". Then at the end of the code I do one:

Log_info0("uart start");

uint8_t n = UART_read(uart, (void *)uart_rxed, 128);

Log_info2("uart end returns %d %s", n, (uintptr_t)uart_rxed);

This n is showed in the following Log trace, which confirms UART works in terms of transmission.

#000002 [ 0.110 ] INFO: (li_thread_test.c:256) uart start
#000003 [ 0.110 ] INFO: (li_thread_test.c:263) uart end returns 0

By the timestamp, you can see UART does not block, which would be its default behavior. Why?

Also, it continues afterwards running the rest of my other code with no problems. Any idea about what may be happening?

Thanks in advance.

What is the max value of Cout for TPS259827, operated at Vin=24V? I saw this question already in the forum, but the discussion went to private.

Could you please provide a diagram with the SOA of the internal FET?

For industrial 24V rails an OVLO >=26V would be an very interesting feature! Do we've such a device on our roadmap?

Part Number: CC2640

We are developing a project based on CC2642. Since that we are not familiar with this new chipset, we need your help.
We have design our PCB refer to the reference design. And we can download the hex image through UART and smart flash program2 ( or uniflash). But we can only download it once. And then the system can not start up and we can not download anymore.
we think that should be some configuationfor bootloader is erased, but we don't know how to resolve this issue. One possible way is erase and download hex by JTag. But we don't know how to do that, should we and additional hardware ( or chipset)?

Hi;

I set up a boost converter as recommended by the Webench using the LM5122 out  24V @ 5A;

After testing, I noticed abnormal behavior. The source supply can start with output shorted to gnd;

Also if the converter is switching input and you close the short to gnd, the converter will not turn off both mosfets.

Does anyone know if I can turn off both mosfets? Have you had the same problem?

UCC256301: UCC256301 HV Startup Prolbem

$

Part Number: UCC256301

When input 230v AC and 390v DC input to the system it draws arround 13mA from the 390V.

However no VCC voltage is genereated when AC is pluged in , the VCC voltage stays at less than 0.2V.

The BLK voltage is 1V with the 2M7 upper and 27k lower resitor divider, 390v input. With not working HV startip function

With the 1.2M and 56K lower resistor I got 2.8V BLK and 1.5V at the VCC pin, I'm guessing VCC is being charged by BLK pin.

Can someone please tell me the prolbem.

This is a final year project over 1 year time and is due eary October. Hopefully not fail becasuse with proper explanaition and work put in even not woking projects can get the pass grade.

I have allot of innovations in amplifier area and is bit shocking for me personally not being able to get the LLC going at all.

This design will be implemented in a audio amplifier low noise supply for a company, it will be selling within few years time and if I don't get this working I will chose diffrent toploligies to substtidue.

Is it because the PFC has to turn on before the LLC  can start and I need to change to a UCC256302 chip. Which I think unlikley

Or is it becasue the system requires the external circuitry on the 230V which I do not have, I only have two diodes and two 1/2W resistor feeding to HV pin from 230v AC.

1st time I thoguht I damaged the device through ESD and soldering too hot manually.

Used a pick n place SMD machine and proper SMD oven to get the whole thing rebuilt

Also used moderate ammounts of ESD precautions with anitsatic wrist bands, mat and connecting GND of LLC to Mains via 1M when installing.

After rebuld still dosen't work.

Me and the PHD lecture has zero idea on the prolbem and how it can be solved......

CC1310: UART_write() not working when called from 2 tasks.

**Note: This not a related question, just posted into that by mistake.

Part Number: CC1310

Hi,

I'm having some problem when I'm using UART_write() from two tasks. I have Initialized UART_init() & UART_open() in main.c

while two tasks are like this-

//task1.c
extern UART_Handle uart_handle;                // UART_Handle uart_handle; is defined Globally in main.c
static void Task1()     //priority->3
{
    UART_write(uart_handle, strarray, strlen(strarray));
//some code } //task2.c extern UART_Handle uart_handle; // UART_Handle uart_handle; is defined Globally in main.c static void Task2() //priority->2 { UART_write(uart_handle, strarray, strlen(strarray));
//some code }

when I tried running the above code, the Task 1 printed the string but the Task2 didn't.

When I tried Debugging it, I noticed that Task1 printed the string and it's UART_write() was blocked on line 1128 of UARTCC26XX_write() as shown in the below screenshot.

When I Debugged Task2 I noticed UART_write() didn't printed the string to the console as it returned out of error through line 1097 of UARTCC26XX_write() as shown in the below screenshot.

But when I made both the UART_write() work synchronously (one after other) via semaphore, then both the tasks printed strings.

As far as I know as per UART driver documentation, UART driver is thread safe. then why it didn't printed the Task2's UART_write() without using semaphore?

Any Help is Appreciated.

OPT3006: PCB through Hole Design for OPT3006

Part Number: OPT3006

Hi Team,

My customer used to use OPT3007 to design, but now they change to OPT3006(have pin INT and ADDR).

Now they have difficult about the PCB through hole design for OPT3006.

Please check 3006 spec and find IC package as below data, sensing area size is 0.381*0.298, and the distance between ADDR pad and INT pad is only 0.461, that means the distance sensing area edge to PIN pad is only (0.481-0.381)/2=0.04.

As we know, customers have to consider cutout size tolerance, cutout position tolerance, etc. It is very high risk that sensing area will be shielded, if based on normal design. So, we want to know what is cutout special design for 3006 to lower being shielding risk.

I also send the EVM to customer for reference. If you have more comment, please let me know.

PROCESSOR-SDK-AM65X: Need Sample Applications

Hi,

I am working on the mcan module of the TI AM65x SOC. I have done all the configurations yet unable to get the data on the CAN bus. Please guide me. Following is the list of steps i followed to configure mcan:

1. Took the contents of the .dtsi file generated from the PINMUX Tool and pasted the contents in the respective .dts files in the Kernel (arch/arm64/boot/dts/ti/k3-am654-base-board.dts and  k3-am654-idk.dtso )and the U-Boot folders(arch/arm/dts/k3-am654-base-board.dts and arch/arm/dts/k3-am654-r5-base-board.dts).

2. Compiled the U-BOOT through SDK.

3. Build the kernel, created the Image file, build the modules and installed them.

4. Installed the kernel with the rootFS.

5. Copied the rootFS  and the .dtb file to the to SD card

6. Then booted the kernel from the SD Card

After this I connected a CAN tool to the EVM and tried to send data using the following set of commands:

i. ip link set can0 type can bitrate 1000000

ii. ip link set can0 up

iii. cansend can0 123#DEADBEEF

I did not get any data on the other end. Where am i making the mistake?

Also, there is no LED glowing on the EVM Daughter Board. How can we be sure that the board is powered?
