Compiler/MSP-EXP430G2ET: MSP-EXP430G2ET

Part Number:MSP-EXP430G2ET

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Hi,

We are trying to connect a 430BOOST-ADS1118 to a MSP-EXP430G2ET. We have changed the XXX2533 part which is on the MSP430 board with the one supplied in the 430BOOST-ADS1118 kit. Everything is working fine, and we can see the temperature on the screen of the 430BOOST-ADS1118 board.

We have two questions ?

Q1. Is there any way I can get the temperature that I am seeing using my thermocouple on a file. Can I use CCS or any software to tap the 430Boost-MSP-EXP combo stacked dual-boards to get the data on to a file. I am trying to do some measurements which also needs calibration and the temperature is in the high range ( 200 + Degrees Centigrade ) . SO , I am trying to get the data off line so as not to get burnt by the flame.

Q2. Is there any way I can program the "new" Part ( The XXX2533 ) with a higher temperature threshold, the programmer on the CCS is not allowing to me to do so.

I have tried both CCS 5.3 and the latest 9.1 and I am sorry but I am unable to program the part.

Please some advice would be awesome

Thanks

Sudipta Sen

CC2640: Flash Programmer 2 crashes on "Connect"

Part Number:CC2640

I have a CC2640 on a custom board. I used my own bootloader to flash the CC2640. I am trying to use Flash Programmer 2 to read memory using the UART pins. The CC2640 is definitely in bootloader mode. My PC connects to the CC2640 Bootloader UART pins via a FTDI232R USB-to-serial port connection. Flash Programmer 2 runs on Windows 10.

When I click "Connect" on the Flash Programmer 2 user interface, Flash Programmer 2 crashes. There are no messages. The application simply shuts down.

I can connect the Flash Programmer 2 to a TI BOOSTXL-CC2650 board using JTAG to do the same thing and there are no issues.

Is the Flash Programmer 2 really capable of connecting to the bootloader pins on a CC2640 while the bootloader is active? I can't find anything else I need to do to make it work.

Hello,

I have been examining the datasheet and PMBus command document and have been unable to find what this packet looks like. I am going to be verifying the I2C commands and need to know what to look for in the data stream. I was hoping to find something that tells me: <Command Designator><Rail Number><12 Bit Number>, but I haven't been able to find this information. Do you have this information available?

Thank you

I'm trying to run the DAC8562TEVM board with an FTDI USB to SPI converter UMFT4222EV-C and DXP and I get the "waiting for USB" hang.

Is it possible to run this setup or do I have to have the MMB0 board for it to work?

Thanks,

OMAPL138B-EP: U-Boot and UBL over UART - Load Working U-Boot Image

$

Part Number:OMAPL138B-EP

Hello,

I am currently attempting to configure and send a U-Boot image over UART for the OMAPL138 Processor to execute.

This wiki page for the OMAP-L138 has several files linked to it, including a serial loader host that can presumably be used to send an AIS image file over UART to the board being used.

We have a .ais file and u-boot.bin file that we can send over the UART connection that we use to resurrect a dead board.  For this, we use the sfh_OMAP-L138 tool after setting the processor to UART boot. In this configuration, the .ais file and u-boot.bin are copied to the NOR flash and then used for subsequent boots.

What I want to do, however, is send the first stage bootloader (the AIS file) and the u-boot.bin via the UART and boot directly from memory. It seems like the first stage bootloader needs to be modified to jump to a location in memory for the second stage (u-boot.bin) instead of using the SPI NOR, but I can't find any documentation on how to modify an AIS file. What resources exist for modifying the AIS bootloader and configuring it for UART booting?

Any clarification or advice on this process would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

- Daniel

RTOS/TM4C1290NCPDT: Future support for TI-RTOS in TM4C12X microcontrollers

Part Number:TM4C1290NCPDT

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

I've been using TI-RTOS in TM4C12X microcontrollers along with CCS8 for some time now, and I've just noticed TIRTOS-1887, which states I should be using a older version of the compiler and CCS. I would like some clarification about how severe are the problems in TIRTOS-1887 (the bug report simply states that there's no compatibility, but I've been able to compile and run code without running into problems) and if there's any forecast on when will a new version of TIRTOS for Tiva will be released that addresses these problems.

TPS92691: Unexpected waveforms and not working properly

Part Number:TPS92691

Hi, I'm working on an LED driver board, and I'm running in to some unexpected behaviors.    (Please see attached scope screen shot).

Topology:  Boost.

Vin:  11 volts

LEDs:  a chain of 5 with a forward voltage of 2.8-3.5 volts depending on current

Using low-side LED current sensing, Rsense = 0.10 ohms,  Viadj = .14 volts

Using PWM dimming, with a low-side FET

So, the questions are:

Why is the switching not even starting till half-way through the On-period?

Why is the LED voltage rising?

Why is there some ringing a little bit after the switching shuts off.

And any thoughts or theories as to what could be causing this?

For the screen shot:

Channel 1 (yellow):  the PWM FET Gate voltage

Channel 2 (blue):  the voltage at the Source of the switching FET.

Channel 4:  The PWM input signal.

Thanks in advance!

what is the limit on debounce times for this driver?

CCS: CC3200 MQTT Connection Issue

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I was using CC3200 to publish sensor data to a MQTT broker (iot.eclipse.org). I was trying on a demo where sensor data is received over Sub 1GHz RF and using CC3200 uploaded to the cloud via MQTT. Everything was woking fine like 7 days, but for the last 5 hours MQTT publish wont work, device is connecting to wifi though.

This is a bizzare scenario I get no error while compiling, but I am getting a new warning:

Description Resource Path Location Type deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' [-Wwrite-strings]  Cloud_Gateway.ino    /Cloud_Gateway    line 138    C/C++ Problem

for the line---------client.connect("myCC3200_gateway_maaislam");
                            &
                           if(client.publish("mySensorData_maaislam",(char*)rxData))

Could this be a hardware issue  or im missing something? Can anyone shed some light on the matter Please...I have also attached my .inofile with this post. Please note I am using energia sketch in CCS.

MSP430F5324: JTAG Programmer Issue

$

Part Number:MSP430F5324

The problem involves programming a TI MSP430F5324 MCU using a TI MSP MCU Programmer and Debugger (http://www.ti.com/tool/MSP-FET). This problem is occuring on prototypes of a new design of an existing product that has been in production for years. There were no changes to the circuitry related to this MCU.

Failure is showing up in about 25% of the boards. While programming the MCU the TI programmer shows ‘EXIT 16’ error message.

The images capture of the JTAG signals between the CC-Debugger and the MSP430 for failed programming and successful programming of the MSP430. It can be seen that the initial sequence (first 250mS) is identical up until the bad board appears to restart the sequence several times. I have additional images and zooms of the details but these images show the behavioral difference between failure and success during programming.

Electrically I’ve confirmed continuity of all connections and see valid signal levels on all of the JTAG signals and do not see any differences in the levels between good and bad boards.
