Dear All,
We just made a board with ADS1232 connected to a 28069 piccolo processor.
We did not have a load cell to check so we just generated a milli volt signal by connecting a potentiometer (10K) across the supplies. Surprisingly the converted values were all wrong, the channel was not getting selected, there was lot of cross talk. We were so worried that we ordered a reference board to check where we were going wrong.
We then got the load cell and bingo, everything worked properly. The gains, the channels, stable counts, everything seems ok now.
Is there any reason why our test with the potentiometer failed?
Also, when we were doing the tests, I think, by mistake, we might have given 5V across the inputs - the chip failed and was not converting after that at all. The power down pin went permanently high! This is not mentioned in the datasheet at all that inputs should be with 2.5V! Could there have been any other reason for the chip failing?
