USB development by combining MSP430 USB dev pack, and OMAP Starterware ?

The MSP430 USB development pack, among other things, greatly helps develop software for the WINDOWS side of a USB-HID communication link.  This Windows software is written in C using the Windows Visual Studio environment.  In other words, this side of the software is substantially, or completely, independent of the MSP430 microcontroller.

I've am using the Starterware package to develop a USB-HID communication link for the OMAP-L138 device.

My question is: To what extent can the above two approaches work together?  That is, I would like to use Starterware (perhaps with slight modifications from me) to develop the OMAP-L138 device side of the USB-HID link, and use the MSP430 USB development pack to develop the Windows side of that link.  In your estimation, how fruitful is this approach likely to be?

Thanks for your help.
