In the errata for the AM335x Industrial Communications Engine, it is mentioned that the expected GPMC address signal mappings cannot be used if the MII signals are being used (advisory A2.1). So to address more than 128k of NOR flash, the address lines for the device above bit 15 cannot be connected to GPMC_A[5:1] as the AM3359 expects, resulting in non-contiguous addressing of the NOR flash from the AM3359’s perspective. This can be accounted for reads of the flash by software. However, does this mean NOR XIP is not possible on the AM3359 if the MII signals are being used and any part of the executable is stored outside the first 128k of the flash?
Are we really limited to 128K NOR XIP if we need to conect MII signals also?
