TPS25942L: Fualt Flag behaior TPS25942L

Part Number: TPS25942L

Hi,

I have a case or behavior that shows at my customer, that they would need consultation or a confirmation from our side:

------------------------------------------

They are using the TPS25942LRVC  to switch on a 12V, 1A load dynamically. For our project, we basically only need the overcurrent safety that you part provides. Overvoltage checking is disabled.

The overcurrent protection works very well. All is as expected.

They see, that during strong load changes on the input side of TPS25942LRVC the fault flag becomes active from time to time (typically for 150us). They guess, that this is the ReverseCurrent protection. The load change on the input creates a little bit of ripple voltage and probably this triggers the 10mV threshold ReverseCurrent protection. They notice that in this case the fault flag does not behave “latched”. Fault flag turns off without any toggling of the enable signal all by itself. This is basically fine for us.

----------------------------------------------

Could you please let me know if their assumptions are correct?

Kind regards,

Marion
