I've recently ordered a DAC38J84EVM and I've found that the outputs are transformer coupled. The transformer is rated between 50 and 1000MHz so I cannot produce nice square waves below 50MHz. I was wandering if anyone can help me configure the EVM to DC coupled. I couldn't find a transformer operating below 50MHz from minicircuits with similar specs.
Also I want to have much higher DAC outputs, e.g. 10Vpp to drive phase modulators but the output from the EVM is just around 700mVpp which is not sufficient. I was thinking adding an amplifier but most COTS amplifiers are AC coupled and have much smaller 1dB compression points. I was thinking of using highspeed opamps to enlarge the voltage swing. I've noticed that the DAC38J84 EVM's layout has provided differential output option, anyone knows how to configure the EVM to have differential outputs (remove/add what components).
