How to add files/folders to the Linux build and have them show up on the EVM after the NAND.BIN file is updated

I have an TMDXEVM6678LE and am starting with the full C6x linux.  I want to add a new executable to the /bin folder and also to add several folders/files so that we can automatically run our demonstration for the customer.  I have searched the wiki but do not see any way to add items to the build.  Can somebody send me a link to the correct documentation or send me instructions?
