TPS54122: Inductor selection

$

Part Number:TPS54122

Hi Team,

I am working on a design utilizing the TPS54122 DC-DC/LDO device. The desired operating conditions are listed below.

Parameter

Value

Vin (typical) (v)

5v ±10%

DC-DC Out (v)

3.6v

LDO Out (v)

3.3v

Iout (Max) (A)

0.5A

Switching frequency

500KHz

These have been selected to give good LDO efficiency and to closely match the simplified design table in the data sheet(I used 1A in some of the calculations when trying to replicate results from the datasheet). My issue is the inductor selection, the suggested value is 3.3uH which is also the suggested value for the 3A configuration. When using equation 10 I don’t get the 3.3uH that the table suggests, even when using K=0.3. Ideally I would like a lower output ripple as the device been powered is very noise sensitive. So using a K value of 0.1 is also preferred but the inductor value starts to increase when this is selected. Is there an advantage to selecting a inductor value based on a max current that is closer to the current actually been taken or should I use the max the device is capable of instead of the 0.5A been used.

Any advice in the component selection for this device would be useful, the design procedure document for the device doesn’t seem to have any new information over the data sheet.

Hello,

I would like to use Discrete Power Solution in AMIC120 to reduce system cost.

Is my understanding that TIDEP0020 can't be used if we use RTC in AMIC120 correct?

Is there a Discrete Power Solution that can also use RTC with AMIC120?

Part Number:EVM430-FR6047

Hi!

I am wondering why the EVM430-fr6047 is using the external Y1 clock instead of the built-in main clock MCLK/SMCLK for the CPU, is there something specific that needs an accurate clock?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

If we use only one DDR3 with AMIC120, is VTT termination necessary?

Are there any way to eliminate VTT termination of DDR3 in case using only one DDR3?

Hi,

Please tell me the current value of LM3478   Isen 1pin .

I think it will not flow.

How many current values should be estimated to make it a Isen pin pattern?

(Rsn is made thick.)

I am referring to AN-1484.

LMR62014: About temperature protection of LMR62014

Part Number:LMR62014

Hi,

I made a circuit board using the LMR62014 device.
I am checking the circuit board operation, but I have something I want to ask you.
Attach the circuit diagram and waveform. Waveform is measurement data of environmental temperature 50 degrees.

The left side of the waveform is normal operation. The case temperature of the device will be 90°C.
The right side of the waveform is abnormal operation. Sometimes this state. In this state the case temperature will be 120°C and the temperature protection will operate. However, even if it returns from temperature protection, this abnormal operation does not return.
(Question)
1. How often does temperature protection work? Is it 120℃?
2. It does not return to normal operation even if it recovers from temperature protection. Turning off the power will result in normal operation. Is this a state in which the device is in thermal runaway?

VIN: 5 V
VOUT: 18 V
IOUT: 150 mA

Hi,

We use UCD90120 but PMBUS_ALERT will always be pulled LOW, we will use the clear fault button INT will be pulled high, but will be pulled LOW immediately,

our system power has no other exceptions,How to clear other faults clearly by clear fault button , why the PEC Fault cannot be cleared, how can I debug it?

Thanks!

DP83822I: FLP burst and 10BASE-Te test

Part Number:DP83822I

Hi Hung,

As you replied at following thread, FLP burst is generated with using line driver with 10BASE-Te. For that case, do you think line driver operation of 10BASE-Te will work if FLP communication works well between local and link partner? The customer tries to skip 10BASE-Te test reasonably or looks for alternative way. Does TI have any block diagram for line driver of 10BASE-Te to see if it works through FLP burst? Thank you for your support,

TPS65218D0: poweroff function

Part Number:TPS65218D0

Hi,

We use a button to control PIN 44(PB) to implement the power-on function. We wonder if this button can implement a poweroff function. For example, we do some actions to this button, when SOC and PMIC is working, the PMIC or SOC will shut down.

If this function exists, what can we do to HW and SW. Thanks.

Sensor Controller drawing unexpected current after shutdown

$

Hi,

Im having a problem with the current consumption of CC2652 Sensor controller after it has finished its processing task,

The general idea is for the CC2652 to:

- sleep for x mins,

- wake up,

- configure and start the sensor

- Sensor controller task runs to completion

- Sensor controller is powered down to save current until the next time it is needed.

I seem to be able to power up and run the sensor controller correctly and i am able to start and restart the sensor controller task effectively.

However when we analyse the current consumption of the device we see that the current draw rises when we turn on the sensor controller, but it does not drop back down after we try and close the Sensor controller.

The Blue line represents the device sleeping,

the white line represents the SC being powered up and running the task and trying to shutdown

The redline represents that the SC continues to draw current forever

We are resetting the task structure and stopping the task like below..

/* Stop the Sensor Controller task */
scifResetTaskStructs( BV( SCIF_TASK_ID), 0 );
scifStopTasksNbl(BV(SCIF_TASK_ID));

Is there something else that we are missing that would allow us to completely power down the SC?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Hello All,

We are using TPS54233 buck converter in my design. I am facing issue is output voltage is getting fall down when my wireless module during transmission. Actually my design input voltage is 12V and output is 4.2V burst current is up to 2A, output voltage getting down to 3.6V and input voltage getting down to 9V. Find attachment of my design schematic and data sheet of wireless module,Please suggest.

LMK04828: Output frequency generation

Part Number:LMK04828

Hello Clock Expert,

I'd like to double check that this output frequency setting is workable or not.

CLKin0 : 122.88MHz

External VCXO : 30.72MHz

Using both PLL1 and PLL2

Required Output Frequency : 163.84MHz, 1.92MHz(SYSREF), 245.76MHz, 1966.08MHz, 122.88MHz

It seems like due to bottleneck of VCO1 frequency range, LMK04828 can't generate 1966.08MHz.

Alice

Part Number:EVM430-FR6047

Hello,

In regards to this related question. I would like to know how does the power consumption changes with a change in the PLL frequency. Also, what are the parameters which can affect the power changes?

I am working on this board and trying to measure the power consumption for one measurement cycle. Can I know with what setting I can achieve the least power consumption?

Regards,

Mr. Jadhav
