Does the ic can control inflow of charge current?

$

Part Number:bq4050

From the technical reference manual, I understood that BQ4050 has JEITA charge algorithms for smart charging. Does this mean the BQ4050 ic alone can control the inflow of current based on relative state of charge??? My question is suppose if my battery pack can take maximum 3amp of current and also I set my maximum chagring current to 3A and I am giving 6A of charge current at PACK pin, will the BQ4050 alone restricts the flow of current to 3A (in this case), or Do i need to use external charge controller (say BQ24725A) ??

Thank you,
Best,
Mahesh.

LM2576HV: Peripheral selection

Part Number:LM2576HV

Hi,

I would like to do dc/dc buck conversion:

  • 36-40V to 12V, @0.6-1.5A
  • 12V to 3.3A, @ 0.2-1A (12V comes from the previous dc/dc)

I tried datasheet, evaluation board schematics and Webench they all give different suggestion for input and output capacitor and the inductor

Please assist with peripheral selection, I'm also open for other dc/dc options

TPS4H160-Q1: Input impedance for IN1-4

Part Number:TPS4H160-Q1

Hi team,

Does TI have input impedance information for IN1-4? The customer observed large ringing through testing, so they want to understand the cause. The ringing is NOT enough large to cause any issue for their application for now.

Thank you for your support.

CCS: CCS v9 release date

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello

My team & I are planning on migrating our development environment to the latest tools available in the first semester 2019
(we are a couple versions late, still stuck in CCS v6)

I've seen on this thread that CCS v9 is planned for end of Q1 2019

--> is it still the case ? are you confident in this ?

Also it is the first 64-bit CCS : is it a revolution for you with deep consequences onTI other packages such as XDC Tools, compilers, SDKs etc. ?

in other words, when CCS v9 is out will it be compatible with the latest PROCESSOR SDK for the following targets : c6678, K2H14 ?

Thank you
Best regards
Clement

LMX2594: Single-ended power in datasheet

Part Number:LMX2594

Hello,

There is a description which Pout = 2dBm at 15GHz when resister pullup and Pout = 7dBm at 15GHz when 1nH pullup.

When we measured this, we could get only -2 to -1dBm when resister pullup and 3 to 4dBm when 1nH pullup.

There is 3 to 4dB gap between datasheet and measurement.

How much is this value possible to vary?

Beause the datasheet is only defined typ value.

Best regards,

Toshihiro Watanabe

TMS570LC4357: U-boot

Part Number:TMS570LC4357

Hi team,

Problem statement: A bootloader is needed to load some advanced functions to the TMS570-micro on startup and U-boot would be preferable. However, it seems that it is required to use the F021 library to access the internal flash and that it's not possible to link the library with open source SW.

Is it possible to port U-boot?

Kind regards,

Gustaf

DRV8847: Suggestion for MD application

Part Number:DRV8847

Hello team,

is designing a system for industrial machinery. We have come up to the following devices as choices but I would like to have a suggestion from your side which suits better the job among:  DRV8847, DRV8881P, DRV8872.

Specs: the H bridge will be mainly supplied by a 15V unit but there is a possibility that it could be supplied by a 30V unit too. Interface PWM. The H-bridge will be controlled so that it supplies at the load a sinusoidal current with a peak of 1.6A (in the transistors the value could be higher) and a frequency of 20KHz. Delay time between control and variation of the output should be less than 1us. Current measurement inside the MD isn't required for the normal funtioning of the device but only in case there is a fault at the load.

Price and size aren't a focus right now but of course the lower they are, the better it's for the final application.

Among the three quoted above, which do you recommend the most? Is there any other device that I missed?

Thank you and best regards,

Adrian

LMX2594: OUTx_PWR value setting

Part Number:LMX2594

Hello,

There is a description which OUTx_PWR value is valid 0 to 31 and 48 to 63. I think higher value is higher power.

How much output power is changed when this value changed from 50? I think we couldn't see the definition.

It would be helpful if we can know approximately the definition of these value.

Best regards,

Toshihiro Watanabe

Part Number:ADS8664

Dear team,

we are planning an single HW that can be populated with ADS8664 or ADS8668 dependent if a 12bit or 16bit version is required. A common software shall be used. Do our ADCs have an ID register where we could extract information if the correct part has been populated? Or how can we test in software which part it is?

many thanks

Compiler/CC2538: How to custom or disable poll rate(Data Request) truly for CC2538 ZED project that don't need sleepy?

$

Part Number:CC2538

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Z-Stack 3.0.2,our project have been set RFD_RCVC_ALWAYS_ON=TRUE in f8wconfig.cfg file,and disable POWER_SAVING in IAR Preprocessor.

CC2538 ZED don't need sleepy forever in project,so we want to change POLL_RATE FROM 1000ms default to 14400000 ms (approximate 240 minutes) to reduce ZED parent router throughput,but this setting invalid.

following segments come from f8wconfig.cfg:

/****************************************
 * The following are for End Devices only
 ***************************************/

-DRFD_RCVC_ALWAYS_ON=TRUE

/* The number of milliseconds to wait between data request polls to the coordinator. */
/* 60*4=240 minutes */
-DPOLL_RATE=14400000

/* This is used after receiving a data indication to poll immediately
 * for queued messages...in milliseconds.
 */
-DQUEUED_POLL_RATE=100

/* This is used after receiving a data confirmation to poll immediately
 * for response messages...in milliseconds
 */
-DRESPONSE_POLL_RATE=100

/* This is used as an alternate response poll rate only for rejoin request.
 * This rate is determined by the response time of the parent that the device
 * is trying to join.
 */
-DREJOIN_POLL_RATE=440

TMS320F28035: PWM lost with HRPWM enable

$

Part Number:TMS320F28035

Hi team,

We encountered a PWM lost problem in our customer. And here is the details:

1: Background:

As the figure shows, they four PWM output EPWM1A/B(Channel 1/2) EPWM3A/B(Channel 3/4).

They need to switch the dead-band between 1/2 and 3/4. Between each switching, they trip all the EPWMs as the blanking in the following figure.

2. Problem:

In the first PWM period after the trip, only half PWM is observed on channel 1. For the following periods, it runs normally. And this only happens when EPwm1Regs.HRPCTL.bit.HRPE = 1. As I know, there is some imperfections on F28035 HRPWM, could you help to identify is this a imperfection?

3. Details:

For pwm trip, they achieved this by configuring AQCTL. For dead-band, they also achieved by AQCTL, eg.:

EPwm1Regs.CMPA = CMP1 - CMPdelta,

EPwm3Regs.CMPA = CMP1

To make it clear, I have to emphasis this only happens when EPwm1Regs.HRPCTL.bit.HRPE = 1.

Could you please give some suggestions?
