Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

I have more or less copied a design from webbench for the TPS54560 (se attached files).  (I have just added a schottky diode for saftey, but same problem occurs if i remove it or not so should not be the problem)

But when I test the design in reality I don't get 3.3V at the capacitor named "Cou1" (see schematic).

have these webbench design been varified?

or anyone see anything else I do wrong?

Part Number:LM4040

Hi team,

My customer want to use the LM4040AxxI in -40degree to 105degree.

But they need to make sure maximum Average temperature coefficient is 100 ppm/C

For the LM4040Axxl, the recommendation temp is -40 to 85.

1. So can you help to provide when the temperature is up to 105 degree, what specs will be degrade and how worse.

2. What's the maximum Average temperature coefficient when the temperature is between the -40 and 105 degree?

Thanks a lot!

TL16C752D: About TL16C752D replacing TL16C752B

Part Number:TL16C752D

Hi dear supporting team,

my customer is using TL16C752D replacing TL16C752B, while in their p/l, they find the failure rate is around 100% (their R&D did not test it due to some mistake).  so it should be due to application issue.

the issue is as below:

their block diagram is as below,TL16C752DPFBR  and CPU interface is parallel interface,TL16C752DPFBR and MAX3243 is using RS232 Transceivers interface(Programmable Auto-RTS and Auto-CTSModem Control Functions (CTS, RTS, DSR,DTR, RI, and CD)),MAX3243 output is MODEM interface.

during the test, they use the external connection cable to loop back the MODEM INTERFACE transceiver signal, and sent by cpu through parallel interface to TL16C752DPFBR,then through TL16C752DPFBR receive the data back to CPU to judge whether the data sent and received are the same.

the phenomenon: CPU send one data, the received data is normal,  when CPU continuou sending 10 data, CPU receive the first data normal, the second data is 0, then after that no data received. if use B version, it is normal.

pls help analyze what's the difference btw them cause the issue. tks a lot!

Hi,

I am working on a project and strive to create a robot where I want to control two DC motors using PWM pins of Arduino UNO. I was just wondering how to interface and connect the Arduino UNO with the motors and which Arduino Pins can I use to lay out the connection with transistors. I have got a hold of two transistors namely BC547 and 75n75, could you please help me out which one is better and stands fit with the project requirement?

TIDA-01477: Questions re fabrication of Wireless Sensor Reference design

$

Part Number:TIDA-01477

Hello,

As an experienced embedded software engineer, I have been developing a smart central heating system for my house as a hobby. My goal is to have a network (Sub-GHz) of temperature sensors and radiator valves. It seems to me that the TIDA-01477 would make a good platform for both the sensor and valve nodes. I have no relevant experience in hardware design. I have approached a PCB fabrication company (ALLPCB) for a quote, and they have asked me the following questions. I was wondering if you could assist me in answering the following:

1. Regarding the Gerber file, pls confirm if we can use our standard stack-up or we should strictly follow your stack-up?

2. The min drill size is only 0.2mm, could you pls confirm if you can enlarge to 0.3 or at least 0.25mm?

Also, confirm the specification of the board you need, will below be ok?

4 layers, Size 37.5*75mm, 1.6mm board thickness, green solder mask, white silkscreen, HASL with lead surface, 1oz copper.

In addition, I have my own questions:

1. What is the difference between TIDA-01477& TI-00484?

2. Can I dispense with the aerial and use an attachment to an external ? If so, how could I go about doing so? I appreciate the aerial design is a very key aspect of a successful radio node.

3. My valve nodes may not require the full power chain, and I would like to have a single board with the principal components of CC1310 microprocessor and a TI DRV8832 motor driver IC. Any suggestions on how to achieve this simply would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give.

Best Regards

Martin

Sitara: Connecting to E-bus

Hi,

one of our customers is interested in using our Sitara processors in their modular control system. The individual components of the system (CPU module, IO modules, etc.) are connected with a backplane using the EBUS that is implemented using Beckhoff ET1100 devices.

What is the best way to integrate Sitara devices to such EBUS backplane?
Do we need ET1100 as well or is there a way to use e.g. ICSS and some LVDS transceiver, or use one of the LVDS peripherals? Any other possibility?

Thanks and best regards,
Phil

USB-2-MDIO: Syntax for read/write register via serial communication

Part Number:USB-2-MDIO

Dear All,

I want to set up a serial communication (LabView) via MSP430F5529 to the PHYTER Demo II Board with DP83849i.

Is there a possibility to replace the usb-2-mdio program with a serial terminal program, like hyperterminal or labview?

With the recommended syntax below for reading a register '=' 'PHY_ID[2]' 'REG_ADD[4]' '/'   I got the answer-string: >Error! Improper length format in basic read/write<

I tried the following:

=010001/

=,0,1,0,0,0,1,/

'=','0','1','0','0','0','1','/'

Where is the mistake?

The UART-setup seems to be ok, I noticed a respond on the MSP430-Board when sending the command (red and green leds were on a short low level).

Thank You

Stefan

UCC28070: Is UCC28070 bridgeless parallel PFC modules a good design strategy ?

$

Part Number:UCC28070

John Griffin is doing a GREAT job...I am familiar with the conventional application for PFC controlling done by the excellent UCC28070, however I now have to design a failover module running at 3KW+

Last effort was a rush but did the job, BUT all three failover modules ran off the same bridge rectifier, which is not quite "pure failover" because the bridge rectfier might have a fail and the whole parallel structure smokes. Paralleling smaller bridge rectifiers makes for multiple return paths also and current loops which is  not good for EMC.

I am looking at the "bridgeless" config in SLUA517, sneaks another extra 1% or 2% efficiency, and has some virtue in regard parallel frontending to a common EMC filter because the second "passive" inductor during the OFF phase will have an inductor current discharging OUT into the filter and the diodes  Da & Db (to reduce CMode flapping about) are reverse biased due to CC mode continuous current.

SO...

Q1 do you think bridgeless is a good way to go generally?

Q2 do you think bridgeless provides a better "common" front end for paralleling PFC modules ?

Any references would be helpful John,

Thks Heaps

LM2941: Will it work for non-typical dropouts of ~2 to 2.2V ??

$

0

Part Number:LM2941

Hi,

I am proposing to use the LM2941S/NOPB in a design where the input voltage is 10V nominal and the output is required to be 7.8V nominal so I'm looking to have a dropout voltage of about 2.2 V between input and output.

I was initially attracted to use this device because it mentioned on page 1 section 3 of the datasheet (SNVS770I –JUNE 1999–REVISED JANUARY 2015) that dropout voltages of ≤ 3V could be achieved but that higher quiescent currents than 30mA would be present, which was tolerable. However, at the start of section 3 it says ".....ability to source 1 A of output current with a typical dropout voltage of 0.5 V and a maximum of 1 V over the entire temperature range." I take this to mean, only for 1 amp output as the example here. For my design the load will draw 0.4A maximum.

In section 11.1.1 it defines the dropout voltage as "The input-voltage differential at which the circuit ceases to regulate against further reduction in input voltage. Measured when the output voltage has dropped 100 mV from the nominal value obtained at (VOUT + 5 V) input, dropout voltage is dependent upon load current and junction temperature." Should this not be "The Input-to-output voltage differential...."?

So for my design, VOUT + 5 V - 100mV = 12.9 V   so in my design no voltages will be near this value so my understanding from this statement is that voltage regulation will occur.

Looking at Figures 1 and 2 Typical dropouts illustrated are much lower (< 1 V). Why is this when the datasheet section 9 says "..........the input supply should be at least VOUT + 2 V"

This seems anomalous and am having a small doubt that my design might not work.
