LAUNCHXL-CC2650: Cannot duplicate the tutorial behavior found on CC2650 resource page

I have a LAUNCHXL-CC2650 that has been successfully returned to its out of the box condition via the button found on:

dev.ti.com/tirex/#/DevTool/CC2650%20LaunchPad/?link=Development%20Tools%2FKits%20and%20Boards%2FCC2650%20LaunchPadXXX

But connecting with PuTTY does not work.  I have tried TeraTerm as well.  The ports show up in my device manager.

Both these terminal emulators worked with this board a year ago when I had time to look at it, but on a different W10 computer.  I only have USB3.0 ports now,  Before I used USB 2.0 and 3.0 randomly.

I have downloaded the demo HelloWorld program for this launchpad.  It prints out to the CCS console window, but not the virtual port.

I can connect via BLE Scanner.  But custom services do not have the numbers as specified in the video.

I would like to get my device working as specified in the video.  Have the custom service IDs changed since the video was shot?

As these steps precede the steps at programming via CCS, and I am having trouble getting the Project Zero app and stack working on this device, getting the demo app working as in the video seems like a good first step.


CC3220S-LAUNCHXL: FreeRTOS version of the trigger mode application?

I was playing with the no-RTOS trigger mode application, which was pretty instructive. I need to incorporate some of the trigger mode functionality into a FreeRTOS-based application, though. Is there a FreeRTOS version of the trigger mode app anywhere?  I couldn't find any within the sample code tree, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Failing that, are there any particular caveats that I need to keep an eye out for?

Is "Figure16. Stability Boundary Conditions" on the datasheet P16 with ceramic cap or aluminum cap?
We would like to know the effect of ESR.
Does ESR(cap type) affect stablity?

Hi dear supporting team,

for SN74LVC125ADR, because it is at the brd edge which interface to external, if in lightening stroke,  suppose the output pin is shorted to GND,  could we gurantee the shorted current to GND be smaller than 50mA over whole temp range? if it is exceed 50mA,  is there any internal protection that could shut it off, and when the shorted case is passed, then it could recovered itself?  tks a lot!

Even if I read this, I can not understand the difference between Battery Low% and Battery_Low%.
I know that Battery_Low% is the DF value.
I rewrite the expression of 9.1.5 and 9.1.6 with my understanding as follows.
9.1.5
    Battery Low% = DataFlash(Battery_Low%) / 2.56;
    EDV2 to DOD = (1 - Battery Low%);
9.1.6
    Battery Low% = DataFlash(Battery_Low%) / 2.56;
    FCC(new) = DCR(final) = DCR(initial) + Measured Discharge to EDV2 + (FCC * Battery Low%)
Is this wrong?
If it is wrong, please tell me the correct formula.

Hello, all 

I tried all means i can think out to install the ti_cgt_pru_2.1.5_linux_installer_x86.bin (CGT for short in below) on ubuntu 16.04, but failed again and again.

The OS information shows as below.

I cannot get the dependencies of CGT from google  So I asked here that what should I install before the cgt installation? Or what steps are missed?

        i  got the new launchxl-cc2640r2 ,  there are some question below :

     

        1. as the release notes shows,IAR support version is 8.11.2 , but i have search it in the IAR ,but there is only the 8.11.1 or  8.22.2.

            is that ok while using 8.11.1?

      

         2. when i read  the ProjectZero guide, There is a notes of start step 2  which write like this “Program your LaunchPad by pressing on the button in the Sources section.”

              what is  the “Sources section”  , anyway  there is  a lot the message in the putty windows ,why my board just give a little?

      

         3.  when i try  to open the CCS resource explorer  , it always could not success, is that  need  to go cross the GFW if i am China?

bq76940: circuit design and spec problems

Hi Engineer,

My customer has some questions on the BQ76940 spec and circuit design.

1. What's the Max balancing current Bq76940 could support with external balancing circuit?

2. on datasheet p.30, is the cell balancing could be synchronous at the same group?

Or for example could VC1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15 could balancing at the same time?

3. at EVM user guide p.56, if I would like add a 12V external voltage source with parallel to the battery source and enter the REGSRC.

Could I design the circuit with adding an extra diode like the picture below? or do you have another suggestion if there is any risk?

the purpose of this design is to decrease the power dissipation from battery once there is an adaptor input.

 

4. Is the BQ76940 internal digital core(MCU) powered by REGSRC or battery?

Thank you very much for your reply.  Also I’m sorry for late response.  The same match/hardware could be used both for 868MHz and 920MHz, it is good for my customer.

Because above post have been closed, may I have one more question in new this post?

Question:
My customer ask us how about characteristic of receive and transmit when the same match/hardware be used both for 868MHz and 920MHz?
In other words, it does not occur performance degradation of characteristic of receive and transmit when the same match/hardware be used both for 868MHz and 920MHz?

Hi all,

In case of applying an external clock of 24MHz to XI pin, is there any sequence between power supply and applying an external clock when power on?

Is it possible to apply an external clock to XI pin during VDD/VDD33 = 0V? If no, please let me know the timing of applying an external clock and GRSTz.

Currently, GRSTz is connected to GND thru 1uF cap.

ADS1292R: ADS1292 Lead-off detect abnormality

   We have a device use the ADS1292 chip, we can read the ADC data correctly via the SPI bus when Lead wire is connected。

   But we found the lead-off detect is invalid when the lead wires is disconnected, the state of register is unchanged.  How can I get the correct state for lead-off detect?

   The state of status register read after lead wires connected or disconnected show below:

                                                            CH1                              CH2

  Lead wire disconnect                     0         1                      0             1

  Lead wire connect                          0         1                      0             1

                             0-->connected; 1-->disconnected.

I am using the TI  TCA9617 component for I2C bus.

My Aardvark device works at 3.3V voltage level and the Slave device (my chip) works at 1.8V voltage level.

I have some difficulties in running the I2C bus at 800K and have some questions:

1                     Are there known problems with this chip?

2                      Which value of pull-up resistors should be used for each side of the chip?

PROCESSOR-SDK-OMAPL138: Secure OMAPL138 cannot go to deepsleep

Hi,

I am developing deepsleep function for secure OMAPL138 ZCE.

I had done successfully this function on normal (non-secure) OMAP L138. But when I run the same source on the secure version, I could not  gate the clocks to the DDR2/mDDR memory controller.

The GOSTAT0 bit never clear to 0 after I set disable PSC for DDR2/mDDR module.

Here is my code:
