CC3200: SOP2 pin always high - application cannot run

Part Number:CC3200

Hi all,

CC3200 on my boards (23 pcs) has pin SOP2 always high - tied to VCC 3.2V. I tried to groud the pin via resistor 270 Ohm, then pin voltage dopped to 2.39V. Please why the pis is high? I made 20 pcs a year ago and it was without problem. Pin was always near GND - pulled down by 2k7 resistor.

Thanks a lot.

LMX2581EVM: LMX2581E schematic questions

Part Number:LMX2581EVM

Hi,
I am working on schematic capture for LMX2581E but has several questions. My reference schematic is figuure 8 at snau136c.pdf

1) RF output pull up: RF output As used 51ohm resistor between RFoutA+ and RFoutA- but RF output Bs used 18nH inductors between RFoutB+ and RFoutB-. Is there specific reason for this or either one of the configuration such as all 51 ohm or all 18nH inductors would be fine for them. FYI, I am going to use single ended +7dBm output. So, I will terminate complimentary ports with 50hm anyway.

2) I have seen two big decoupling cap networks fro "VccPlane", one is with C32, C33, C34 and the other is with C29,C30, C31. I think these decoupling networks has different VCc pins for decoupling. So, can you let me know what pins C29, C30 and C31 is taking care of and what the other C32, C33, C34 does? I think there are sensative areas to have separate decoupling rather than tie them up together.

3) VCCDIG (pin#28): This is digital Vcc pin. is it ok to tie this Vcc with ananlog one? Usually analog and digital VCCs are separate.

4) OSCin (pin #29): I am going to use external source of 10MHz refererence coming out of the other board. I see Figure 8 schematic has resistor network R14, R15 and R16. Do we have specific reason for this network or just power divider? Also, you have L3 ferrite between GND_OSC and GND but in my case, since I don't have on-board OSC, I think I don't need this L3 but R15 directly connects to GND. Please let me know if this can be an issue.

5) SPI: I saw series and shunt resistor for SPIs hook up such as R35 thrugh R41. I am ok with series 10kohm resistors but do we need shunt 12k ohm resistors? do we specific reason for this?

6) BUFEN: If this can be controlled by software, I am going to leave this pin open.

Please advice the questions above.

Thanks,

HI

we would like to know when the WL18xx do MIMO/SISO/ antenna diversity  (function b/g/n, PA MIMO, …) ?

In particular, our wish is to understand what the MRC mode does, how to activate it and how to check that it is activated.

A priori in MRC mode the Wifi client receives on 2 antennas and by reconstructed processing the signal, but this mode does not act on the emission.

If this mode is enabled on the module (ht.mode = 1 -> SISO40 or ht.mode = 2 -> SISO20; phy.number_of_assembled_ant2_4 = 2 -> MRC; wl18xx.phy.spare0 = 0) only on antenna 1 and should listen on antennas 1 and 2.

Is there a mode that allows in wifi mode b / g to use in automatic transmission the antenna 1 or the antenna 2 according to the level of reception of this one?

Thanks for your support

Carl

  • I have no idea what triggered that.
  • Googling this around gave me no clue so far.
  • The error message refers to a linker temp/work file that does exist, but does not indicated which module(s) in there is/are involved.
  • I have reviewed the compilation and link options for the projects involved and found nothing suspicious so far.
  • I have tweaked some parameters, cleaned all projects a few times and rebuilt everything to no avail - the problem sticks!
  • I have checked from the verbose global-build.log that everything was compiled using 6.2.11 (including the old XDC and custom ti.sysbios library file involved).
  • And since Strict Compatibility Checking is on, I would assume that the linker would have diagnosed a codegen tools inconsistency anyway if there was one.
  • Just in case, I have also checked in the .map file that the linker invoked was a 6.2.11 too.

I'm starting to get out of new, creative ideas to figure out this one...

Would any of you All have a clue of why those darn "DWARF abbreviation code 73" can't be found, and how to get rid of the problem?

TIA!

Part Number:BQ20Z655-R1

Hi,

We have our PCBs which has BQ20Z655-R1 fuel gauge circuit designed for 2S1P cell configuration. We also have the batteries we want to use, EV2400 and bqEVSW. I guess, we have everything we need to proceed with development, assembly and production of our device with the battery. I am bit confused how to start.

Do I need the evaluation module? Or can I directly start with our PCBs?

What are the proper steps? I cannot find a guide in http://www.ti.com/product/BQ20Z655-R1/technicaldocuments

MSP430FR5994: Improving SD card writing speed

Part Number:MSP430FR5994

Hi,

Writing data to SD Card is bit slow(it takes 30ms to write 300 bytes).
Is this the limitation of SPI based SD card interface on MSP430?

We are trying to evaluate FFT on MSP-EXP430FR5994 and the FFT calculation data
will be stored to the SD card(FatFs). Is there any way to improve the SD card write speed?

We are using OutOfBox_MSP430FR5994 sample code FatFs/SDCardLib from TI.

What could be the maximum throughput that could be achieved?

Part Number:DS90UB924-Q1

Hi team,

Please let me ask you a question about DS90UB924Q1.
I understand that the MODE_SEL are read only once after
PDB goes high and are latched.

In addition,if a customer wants to change the MODE by MODE_SEL pin
in the power-on state, the PDB pin will need to be pulled down to LOW once.

 Is my understanding correct?

BQ27426: Measure gauge power draw

Part Number:BQ27426

Hello,

Is it possible for the BQ27426 (or any other coulomb-counter battery gauge) to measure its own power consumption? Since the BAT pin is connected to SRP and not SRN, the IC's current will not flow through the sense resistor and will therefore not be measured. Is it possible to connect the BAT pin to SRN?

Thanks

Part Number:BQ76925EVM

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I have recently bought the BQ76925EVM. After validating the performance of the chip, I then wanted to do some dev work with it. So I loaded the example code that is provided with the EVM on its product page. The problem that I am having now is that it no longer works correctly with the BQ76925 Evaluation Software. So is there any way to get the original software that was preloaded onto the MSP430F2122, or is there anyway to reset the board itself? Or is another problem occurring?

Thanks

mmb0 Evalboard, driver problem

Hello ,

I tried to install the DXP (DAC Exerciser Program ) Software from here.

www.ti.com/.../dxp

I want to use the DAC80004 EVM on this board.

After downloading I installed the software, everything works fine and the device was found in the devicemanger.

The driver NI-Visa(winusb.sys) is used. No problems at all !

But when I opened the dxp software, the program is telling me "USB Connection Timeout".

1. I uninstalled dxp-software and also the driver, reinstalled everything and restarted windows again. Nothing changed.

2. I made the same procedure in a virtualbox using windows and also the "USB Connecting Timout" appeared.

3. I tried to connect with and without the DAC80004 EVM board. For the DAC80004 I used the DAC80004.xml. I could choose it in the DXP-Software

(I attached the device the virtuell machine correctly. because the driver was found also.)

4. I did the whole installation stuff with admin rights and the board was correctly power supplied with 6V.

5. I changed the usb cable!

It seems I'm having the wrong drive or the aplied driver is outdated !?

I use Windows 7 Professional 64Bit, SP1

Chris

The error message:

The driver I installed, as you can see the driver is correctly installed

LM4040: Precision issue

Part Number:LM4040

Hi,

we recently received a 200 board batch from our external assembler and are having an issue with the output voltage of the LM4040. We are using the LM4040AIM3-3.0 which has a precision of +- 0.1% at room temperature. Out of 10 random boards I measured, 8 were out of spec range. A precision of +-0.1% would give me a +-3mV tolerance. This is the circuit I am using. The output goes to a high input impedance pin of a microcontroller. Although there is a note with a larger tolerance, this is only to remind me of the tolerance over the whole temperature range.

These are the voltages I measured :

- 3.003

- 3.006

- 2.993

- 3.010

- 2.985

- 2.995

- 2.988

- 2.986

- 3.003

- I have a supply of 3.316 (measured).

- I have removed some LM4040 to test them isolated from my circuit and showed the same voltage.

- I have verified the marking of all LM4040 and showed the correct one (RKA).

- I have tried removing or adding different capacitor values.

- I tested at room temperature.

- I used 2 diffrent calibrated multimeters.

Any comments or suggestions on why the voltages are out of spec are well appreciated :). So far I am thinking either a bad batch of LM4040 from TI, or bad assembly from the assembler.

Thank you!

Olivier

CC2640R2F: CC2640R2F: can only connect to iPhone7 & 8 once in each POR

Part Number:CC2640R2F

Dear Sir:

I had been found CC2640R2F couldn't connected with iPhone7 before, and release it in https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/bluetooth_low_energy/f/538/t/581205

After many attempts, I found change application's stack size could alleviate this issue.

Recently I transplanted my project to newest SDK( simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_1_40_00_45), this issue was appeared again.

My product just can connect to iPhone7 & 8 once. If I disconnect with iphone 7&8, and reconnection it, CC2640R2F also join the connect mode, but the iphone7&8 can't  acquire any server from CC2640R2F, unless I reset CC2640R2F

My project nearly used up flash size. I developed it base on <ble5stack> <simple_peripheral_oad_offchip> project. Now the application occupy 64659 bytes flash.

In my project, only contain original task. I adding all my function to the original task, and now the task's stack size is 1024.

For this issue, I'm eager  hope you can supply some suggests.

Thanks~

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

We are using CC2640R2FRSM module in our design, software test code base is ble5_simple_peripheral_cc2640r2lp_app, written some test application and configured the advertising interval to 1 sec and we have kept Tx power level to 5dBm. Our device will be running with CR2032 battery.

While testing we have observed the power consumption when power ON is 0.20mA, when the device connect also 0.20mA their is no change in power consumption when conncted or not.

We tried by programming the same software into LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2 Development board and measure the current, here also it is showing 0.20mA when we connect or disconnect. As per the battery calculation if our device runs at this current then it will take few days to drain the battery.

I have the beow queries, please clarify:

1. To increase the range, if i chnage the tx power level by changing the DEFAULT_TX_POWER to 12(5dBM) from 7(0dBM). Their is no change in range covered, please can you guide me how to increse the range?

2. To optimize the power consumtion, what are the changes required in the test code(ble5_simple_peripheral_cc2640r2lp_app) i'm using?

3. Can i connect both the antenna "PCB F antenna" & "external antenna", is this will effect on power consumption? Please find the attached schematic for your reference.3644.Schema BLE controller.PDF

Please reply ASAP.

Thanks.

Part Number:CC2541DK-MINI

Please forgive my ignorance or if this is covered in another post. I have a hardware background but my understanding of software is limited.

I am curious to know if it is possible to control the audio of a smartphone (Play, Pause Fast Forward, Rewind, Vol +- etc.) with a CC2541 or CC2540 device?

Im not looking to stream audio i just want to be able to control it, being able to activate the AI assistant (Siri, OK Google) would also be helpful.

I have got CC2541DK-MINI evaluation set but i have never used it beyond the quick start guide.

Is there specific documentation and tools that i should be reading and using? Also if this isn't the correct device or the most suitable any recommendations would be welcome.

any advice would be greatly appreciated .

ADS131A04: SPI Status Register indicates there are some errors

Part Number:ADS131A04

Greeting!

I have come across with a problem when using ADS131A04. I use F28069 as a master controller and the SPI communication seems working. In my circuit, M2 is connected to GND; M1 is left unconnected; M0 is connected to IOVDD. This achieves a hamming code off, 16-bit device word, and asynchronous slave mode. Below is the screen shot after I check the STAT_M2 register.

But it has a problem with SPI. When I check STAT_S register, I get this response, ‭0010010100000011‬. From the instruction on Page 59, Bit 1 indicates that "CS is asserted or deasserted when SCLK is high" and Bit 0 indicates "Not enough SCLKs are sent per frame". Could you give some suggestions on how to solve these two errors?

Thanks for your time!

Part Number:CC2640R2F-Q1

Dear Experts,

could You please let me know the behavior of the stack in the following case:

e.g.

- simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_1_40_00_45

- peripheral role (either simple_peripheral or multi_role example)

- MAX_NUM_BLE_CONNS is set to 4

- Advertising would still be enabled after simultaneous 4th connection would be created

--> What happens now, if a 5th client would try to connect to the device, since the device is still advertising (connectable)?

I suppose a connection/link will not be able to be established, but will the client

- get any indication why? e.g. max amount of connections reached on peripheral side or not enough resource or any other kind of error message giving a hint why they connection failed?

Many thanks and best regards,

RogerG
