Part Number: LM5163-Q1

Hi Champs,

there is an abs max rating of the Cbst cap stated in the datasheet. A customer raised some concerns that, with the given tolerances of the standard caps they might exceed the 2.5nF abs max. specification.

Can you give insight where the limit comes from?

CCS/MSP430FR5969: Using 12b ADC Pro to get correct FFT on ADC Pro

Part Number: MSP430FR5969

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I am currently working on a project that is comparing the ADC performance of the external ADC (ADS8881) and the internal 12b ADC of the MSP430FR5969. I am able to replicate the signal on the ADS8881EVM GUI.

As for the MSP430 12b ADC data, I upload it with the correct formatting into ADC Pro, where I do get a correct signal in the Multi Scope function (see attached)

But the problem that I am running into is running the FFT. My SNR performance is -1.76dB. Which I believe to be very low. (attached).

My input frequency is 6 Hz into the 12b internal ADC. Is there a reason for this poor performance? Is it related to my input signal or the data I have been receiving from the 12b ADC.

As for my ADC configuration settings, attached is my code as well.

Thank you for the support!

Dear TI staff

Could you suggest me follow below topics.

1. In datasheet page 3; 6 Pin Configuration and Functions.

Regarding package HTSSOP, Is PIN no. 6 is GND? I see in the table it mention only Pin no. 14

2. Am I correct that Pin no. 14 of HTSSOP or Pin no. 12 of DRR is Power ground and Pin no. of HTSSOP and DRR is Analog ground? because my question regarding datasheet page 10, Figure 23.

Hello,

Can you explain what does "Signal detect assert level for active data signal" ?

Is this the minimum voltage required at component inputs for understanding a logical level ? If not, what is this minimum voltage ?

Hi all,

I need to develop programmable logic and interface it to the evaluation board TMDX654GPEVM. Does this board interface in a preferable manner to an external CPLD/FPGA? Are there high speed communication channels already implemented ?

Thank you in advance for your help!

TMDXICE110: ecat_ti_esc_spi_slave: Invalid mailbox configuration

Part Number: TMDXICE110

Hi,

I am trying to get the ecat_ti_esc_spi_slave example running on the TMDXICE110 and while trying to get from the INIT to PREOP state TwinCAT gives the following error:

Error 1 02.12.2019 15:48:41 538 ms | 'Box 1 (TMDSECATCNCD379D EtherCA' (1001): 'INIT to PREOP' failed! Error: 'check device state for PREOP'. AL Status '0x0011' read and '0x0002' expected. AL Status Code '0x0016 - Invalid mailbox configuration'

The ethercat slave stack is running on an stm32 board which is connected to the ICE110 via spi. The Ethercat slave stack runs through the init process just fine. Thus, at least the interface is working properly.

As i am quite uncertain which Ethercat slave stack files are required for the ecat_ti_esc_spi_slave project, the error might be there.

Do i need the files created for the slave_full example or the ones for the C2000 application or something completely different. However, so far i tried both and the error persists.

I am using the PRU ICSS Release 1.00.07 , pdk version 1.0.12 , ccs v8 and followed:

https://training.ti.com/demonstrating-ti-esc-spi-mode-ddr-less-amic110-c2000-ethercat-slave?context=1134134-1139205-1136893

CC3220R: % character in SSID or password not supported?

$

Part Number: CC3220R

Hi,

Asking on behalf of a customer:

We have an issue that makes provisioning fail if % character is present in SSID or password. I have investigated the problem and it is located in the provisioning functions supplied in the TI SDK.

It is quite easy to reproduce the bug with the Out-of-Box demo supplied with the SDK. The SSID "W&ifi%2BSerial" becomes "W&ifi+Serial" in the TI demo. (I used the demo to illustrate the problem since the software library used in the demo is the same as we use in final product).

Some in depth details from my analysis that can be useful:

The password and SSID are posted as x-www-form-urlencoded, '%' is encoded as '%25' in this format. When decoded on the cc3220 '%25' gets messed up and the result depends on the characters following '%25'.
Ex. if the SSID is 'Hi%2B' then it ends up as 'Hi+', this would have been the correct result if the SSID acutally were 'Hi+' since the encoding for 'Hi+' is 'Hi%2B'.

Another example, 'Hi%25' becomes 'Hi%'.

Thanks,

/ Wolfgang

Part Number: AMC1301

Hi,

Can we use AMC1301 for sensing switch current which switches at 500KHz in boost converter.

In datasheet,Input bandwidth is mentioned as 1MHz.But output bandwidth is mentioned as 210Khz.

Will output bandwidth limit the sensing of 500KHz input signal?

Part Number: TMS320C6654

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Hi,

My project is running on TMS320C6654 with sysbios 6.76.02.02, xdctools 3.51.03.28 and linux cgt 8.3.5 in command line.

I want to also be able to compile my project under windows with code composer. I use same version of compiler and I've check that compilation options are equals
My project compile under windows but is not functionnal.

I discover that windows output binary is smaller than linux one due to 2 functions missing in mapping
My global optimisation is -o3, but if I add #pragma FUNCTION_OPTIONS ("--opt_level=0") on those missing functions, they appear in map file and binary have correct size and is functionnal

How to explain this function disappear due to optimisation level?
How to solve this issue globally without adding this pragma?

Thanks

AWR1443BOOST: Phase stability across multiple chirps and frames

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST

Phase shift will make it difficult to measure micro-motion. Therefore, I wonder how to improve the phase stability across multiple chirps (i.e., keep strictly coherent)? What is the reason for this shift or unstability? In additon, the phase shift may occur with different frames at the same time.

I use AWR1443Boost +DCA1000EVM caputer the raw radar data with mmWave Studio, and the monitoring object is static. From the studio software, we can see the phase stability performance for multiple chirps, which show obvious phase shift. Please see the attchment (No of chirp loops:128, chirp duration time :80 us(Please visit the site to view this file)).

LM27403: I am unable to get more than 600mA out of the supply when I ramp up the load and unable to start the supply at all if the load is greater than 400mA.

Part Number: LM27403

Hello,

Customer is having a problem with the device:

input of 14V and an output of 1V at 1A.

I am unable to get more than 600mA out of the supply when I ramp up the load and unable to start the supply at all if the load is greater than 400mA. I copied the WebBench simulation that I generated at the time but when I try to simulate it now, I get different values.  Virtually all of the components are different. Was it wrong?  Why are they different?  I also cannot run a simulation for this design now.  I get an error of “Simulation not enabled for this design.”

What could be causing this issue?

Any comment on their questions regarding the webench?

Thanks!

Kevin

AWR1443BOOST: Distance measurment error

$

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST

Hi,

Recently, I use AWR1443+DCA1000eVM for range/distance measurement with the raw radar data captured by mmWave Studio. The distance is calculated with beat frequency with FFT and the target is static. The transmitted bandwidth is used for the bandwidth regarding to ADC sampling time (i.e., the bandwidth B is calculated  correctly).

The experimental results show that there is alway a approximately fixed error (larger than the truth about 6-8 cm). I have try 0.5 G, 1G, 2G and 2.5 G bandwidth.

Therefore, I wonder what is the reason about the error. Is there a fixed time delay on the hardware? We need to calibrate and compensate for this error?

Thank you very much for your instruction.

Yuyong

CCS: Compiler cl6x deletes output object file inside Docker container

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I'm having a weird issue, when running the command below in a Windows 10 command prompt the object file is generated ok, but when using Docker (built from Ubuntu 18.04 and installed Linux Code Generation tools v7.2.24) I can see the object file generated with similar file size and then deleted a couple of seconds later, is there some additional parameters I need to provide to keep the object file?

cl6x -mv6748 --abi=eabi -O3 -ms3 -g --optimize_with_debug=on  --gcc --define=c6748 --diag_warning=225 --diag_wrap=off --display_error_number --gen_func_subsections=on --remove_hooks_when_inlining --printf_support=nofloat -D=WATCHDOG_STR=\"1\"  --preinclude="../PGM_sysbios/Include/platform.h" --include_path="/opt/ti/c6000_7.4.24/include" --include_path="../libStarterWare/StarterWare/include" --include_path="../libStarterWare/StarterWare/include/hw" --include_path="../libStarterWare/StarterWare/include/c674x" --include_path="../libStarterWare/StarterWare/include/c674x/c6748" --preproc_with_compile --preproc_dependency="Debug/FileManager.d" --obj_directory="Debug/" --asm_directory="Debug/"  "FileManager.cpp"

I tried echo "hello world" > test.obj in the Docker console and file is not being deleted which suggests cl6x compiler is the one responsible for deleting the object file but have no idea why.

Best regards,

David.

Part Number: DLP2010EVM-LC

Hello,

I'm trying to download the firmware for the DLP2010 EVM  "DLP2010EVM-LC_Firmware_v7.3.1_Installer.exe" but the TI website keeps reporting the following error message:

"Virus/Spyware Download Blocked Download of the virus/spyware has been blocked in accordance with company policy. If you believe this is in error, please submit a ticket at help.ti.com.

Go to Submit a ticket - Connectivity and VPN - Firewall and Proxy - Report an Issue. Include the URL, file name, and business justification.

File name: DLP2010EVM-LC_Firmware_v7.3.1_Installer.exe"

It seems that the download is blocked by Texas Instruments itself. I also tried a different network and to download the file from outside the University network and with a different accounts, but the Virus message will appear over again.

This is a screenshot of the web page showing the error.

Anyone know how I can download the .exe file to update EVM firmware?

Thanks,

Giovanni G.

WEBENCH® Tools/TPS65263-Q1: Calculating reliable loop compensation values

$

Part Number: TPS65263-Q1

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

have inherited a design with this chip. It come with values, for compensation networks, that semt well working.

In order to assess this, i tried to simulate in webench the similar TPS65261 part , but probably due to my inexperience with webench could not be able to set the Output voltages needed, one of wich (5V) much higher than default one(0.9V). As i tried, webench kicked me out saying it can not find  non better specified component(s).

Anyway with default output voltages webench gave Rc and associated Caps values next to mine. But it appears not to be there a linear proportion, neither inverse, between Rc and Out voltages so can not infere CH1 Rc (and caps) value from webench suggestions.

Then I also wanted to try out the formulas given in 263 datasheet, using 1Mhz fck, 100khz Fc, and RL = V/expected max current; this for each branch.

Found Rc values are much higher than previous ones, hundreds kohms vs kohms. I tried these value sets in my HW and the control loops got all very unstable.

How can i calculate proper values then? Our designs are all digital, and experience rare steps in absorption and durable constant absorption intervals. By other hand, we need sourcing currents next to higher chip limits. So i guess i could advantage from slowing down the regulation response in order to limit the pwm jitter and avoid overcurrent thresholds tripping.

Thanks for any suggestion

Francesco
