DRV8312-69M-KIT: Regarding Level 6 PID tuning

Part Number: DRV8312-69M-KIT

We are referring "Trapezoidal Control of BLDC Motors Using Hall Effect Sensors" pdf. Now we are performing Level 6.

While performing Level 6, for speed control we need to tune PID gains. After tuning the gains as attached below, the motor is rotating with the specific speed provided using term "SpeedRef", but the motor is making some noise and not rotating smoothly.

Also, we have referred the document "PID Controller Tuning Guide.pdf" regarding PID Tuning from "C2000Ware_2_00_00_03".

Can you let us know the value of gains to be tuned, so that motor rotates smoothly.

TMDX654GPEVM: AM6548 PRU_ICSSG RGMII throughput

Hi Robert,

We have custom designed a development platform based on AM6548 SoC. This platform is designed to support two Gigabit Ethernet ports via PRG1_RGMII1 and PRG2_RGMII2.

We have followed the series termination on TX and RX lines as per the recommendation. PRG1_RGMII1, PRG2_RGMII2 is connected to 1.8V and 3.3V IO levels respectively.

Here are our observations on RGMII port validation:

1) Single port loop back on MDI interface is working fine at 1Gbps. (Cable loop back)

2) Port to port loop back at 100Mbps is working without any throughput issues.

3) On few of our development platform, Port to port loop back at 1Gbps is failing to transmit few packets of data. With diagnostic code, on transmitting 300 packets of data we observed PRG2_RGMII2 receives 294 packets, missing 6 packets. Also, we have tested with various delay settings on RGMII_RX_DELAY_CTRL register. Hardware strapping option is designed to set delay to 2nS.

As stated in the above query, does operating at 3.3V cause throughput issue.

Could you please share your thoughts on this.

Warm Regards,

Navya

THS4541: TINA TI simulations

Part Number: THS4541

Hi team,

I will simulate THS4541 by TINA TI.

But I did't use TINA TI, I am not sure how to use it.

I want to be able to perform AC analysis, transient analysis, and noise analysis on a general circuit.

For example, a general circuit such as the circuit on the first page of the data sheet.

I tried to download THS4541 TINA-TI Reference Design from the homepage, but I couldn't download it.

By the way, I can download THS4541 TINA-TI spice model.

I'm happy with the reference design that can be used as it is, but can you give me a simulation circuit that can be used as a reference?

Best regards,

Tomoaki Yoshida

TMS320F28375D: Period jitters on their HRPWM outputs.

$

Part Number: TMS320F28375D

Hello,

My customer’s F28375D has *period* jitters on their HRPWM outputs.

Could you please advise how to clear the jitter ?

Jittter description:

My customer found several falling edges.

- The total # of high time variation is not clear. We are sorry.

- The input clock for EPWM is 10nsec.

The TRM SPRUHM8i has a description in “15.14.1.5.4 High Resolution Period”.

On the p.1967, There is a note:

>>>>>

NOTE: When high-resolution period mode is enabled, an EPWMxSYNC pulse will introduce +/- 1 - 2

cycle jitter to the PWM (+/- 1 cycle in up-count mode and +/- 2 cycle in up-down count

mode). For this reason, TBCTL[SYNCOSEL] should not be set to 1 (CTR = 0 is

EPWMxSYNCO source) or 2 (CTR = CMPB is EPWMxSYNCO source). Otherwise, the jitter

will occur on every PWM cycle with the synchronization pulse.

When TBCTL[SYNCOSEL] = 0 (EPWMxSYNCI is EPWMxSYNCO source), a software

synchronization pulse should be issued only once during high-resolution period initialization.

If a software sync pulse is applied while the PWM is running, the jitter will appear on the

PWM output at the time of the sync pulse.

<<<<<

From the note, we understand that the PWM outputs have period jitters under some condition.

Then, could you please advise how to remove the jitters in the following usage ?:

  • The F28378D is required to output a couple of EPWM modules to output complemental PWM outputs.
  •    A single module output EPWMxA and EPWMxB signals.
  • Two modules work in synchronous.
  • The period is in high-resolution. The value is more than ten or a hundred. Not too small.
  • The count mode is up-down.
  • The PWMs toggles at the CTR=zero in the module.

We are aware of the PWM connection. The TRM has a figure on p.1876.

We can use three or more PWM modules if we need to use EPWM1 as oscillator only, and use EPWM2 and -3 to output PWMs.

BQ25887: is I2C required for the BQ25887 chip to use it's auto cell balancing ability?

Part Number: BQ25887

Hello, I was wondering if the BQ25887RGER requires an I2C input in order to enable its auto cell balancing ability.  I was also wondering (in the case that I2C isn't required for the chip to have auto cell balancing enabled), if the chip can thus operate without any I2C input to it.

Part Number: TAS2505-Q1

Hi TI-team
When using the digital path (DAC), I think you are doing noise shaping with ΔΣ.
Do you have the noise shaping waveform at that time ?
Would you please paste it if you have it ?

Hi team,

Customer would like to use our TDC7201 and there is one question about SPI connection. The question is as below.

    According to TDC7201 spec. saying , it support doubles data read out throughput but requires a second dedicated SPI ....

    Their question is these two DOUT are shared same SCLK and DIN, how to treat the 2nd SPI's SCLK ?  how the 2nd SPI to trigger DOUT data by 1st SPI SCLK ?

CCS/LAUNCHXL-CC1310: Cannot use usleep() to implement SWIF symbols. error in observed timeperiod is significant(if not too much)

$

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1310

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi everyone,

I am trying to implement SWIF protocol using CC1310 and DAC161P997. For starters, I am trying to generate pulses of width 100us(i.e., Time period). For this, I am using empty example in SimpleLink SDK v3.20 wherein I toggle the GPIO (red LED by default) using usleep for every 100us. but when I observe the signal on oscilloscope, the time period comes out to be 183.1us which is 83% error. Following is the code I am using to implement this.

#define TIMEPERIOD 100//in microseconds

void *mainThread(void *arg0)
{
    /* Call driver init functions */
    GPIO_init();

    /* Configure the LED pin */
    GPIO_setConfig(Board_GPIO_LED0, GPIO_CFG_OUT_STD | GPIO_CFG_OUT_LOW);

    /* Turn on user LED */
    GPIO_write(Board_GPIO_LED0, Board_GPIO_LED_ON);

    while (1) {
        usleep(TIMEPERIOD);
        GPIO_toggle(Board_GPIO_LED0);
    }
}

Can someone suggest what can be done?

Thanks in advance,

-Chandrasekhar DVS

Compiler/TDA2EX17EVM: single camera usecase for capturing

$

Part Number: TDA2EX17EVM

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Hi Sir

I still some questions over TI-RTOS.

1. Which utility can I use to know the capturing data? Or which buffer can I print to know the camera is capturing for usecase-framecopy? I want to know whether camera is working and capturing.

2. I use usecase-framecopy and have a algorithm API-AAA(*ptr) that want to call by buffer address of framecopy. Which buffer can I call for our AAA(*ptr) - ptr?

Thanks so much

Best Regards,

Jacob

CCS/CC1310: How to add RF address filter to Wake On Radio sample project

Part Number: CC1310

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi, is it possible to add RF address filter to the simplelink cc1310 sdk rfWakeOnRadioRx project?

I would want to have a host cc1310 to send the wake packet to specific cc1310 slave board. So ideally I would want the slave to only wake up to packets that are meant for them.

Any example would be great.

Thanks.

Hi,

In our application, TPS63086 is selected to meet requirements below, at the moment, is it the best PN?

1, Input: 3.3V - 3.8V (Li-Ion rechargeable battery).

2, Output: 3.8V (typical), maximum 400mv voltage drop for load 2A pulse current.

Also, what's the quiescent current in shut down mode? Thanks.

ADS1292RECG-FE: How to save measured data to a file (ADS1x9xECG-FE Demonstration Kit)

Part Number: ADS1292RECG-FE

Hello

I bought a ADS1292R EVK board ( ADS1x9xECG-FE demonstration Kit)

This board operates at 3V analog and 3.3V digital by USB 5V power

By the way I want to use coin battery (3V)

So I plan to use a step-up IC to make 3.3v.

Have you ever run it like this?

Does this have any problem with power supply noise?

Or is there another way to use coin batteries?

Thank you

TPS2372: Please help to check dual signature application

Hi expert,

For this data page 20, does PSE use 2 different RJ45 or 2 different channels?

We concern that the VDD of 2 PSE channels, VDD1 of TPS2372(PD1) and VDD2 of TPS2372(PD2) are connected together.

When PD1 finish the handshaking, the VDD2 of PD2 will be pulled up to 54V, it will make PD2 handshaking fail. Like the attached waveform.

Channel3 finished the handshaking and power on, at the same time Channel is pulled up to 54V.

Is my reasoning right?

FDC2214EVM: I asked about question "Please tell me about the value when using Data Streaming of GUI." before

Part Number: FDC2214EVM

I asked a question before and got the answer.
I have responded to the results of the response, but have you received it?

I'll send it again.
I would appreciate your answer.

Regards,

<question before>

I use FDC2214EVM for a touch sensor of a robot.

From the terminal of the evaluation board,
I extend the sensor electrode pad with a cable and paste it inside the robot.
I confirm changes in capacitance when the electrode pad is touched by hand from outside

When measuring using [Data Streaming] of GUI
It shows 53pF when not touching the sensor, and 0.1 ~ 0.5pF capacitance increases when touching from outside.

My concern is that the sensor is reacting, but this 0.1 ~ 0.5pF is probably too small.

Can you tell me because I don't know if it's weak?

Regards

<Conditions>

Electrode size: 5mm x 10mm
Electrode thickness:0.2~0.3mm
Robot material: Plastic Robot thickness: 0.2 ~ 0.3mm Cable length: 10cm

TPS65268-Q1: SW pin negative pulse is very big

Part Number: TPS65268-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer use the TPS65268-Q1 and found that the SW pin negative pulse is  very big.

1)DDR=1.5V

2)VDDARM-1.37V

3)3.3VK

At present, no obvious problems have been found in the schematic diagram.

In layout, Vin and input capacitor are placed in the bottom layer; inductance and output capacitor are placed in the top layer. Input power loop is long, and it may be one of the reasons.

In addition, when adding RC to the ground (10R+1nF)  in SW PIN , and no significant improvement was found.

Please help to confirm the problem, thank you!
