BQ25101: Battery Capacity Status

Part Number: BQ25101

Hi,

I know that BQ25101 charging chip is able to indicate whether the battery is in a charging state or non-charging state via the /CHG pin.

My question is:

Can BQ25101 also continuously update the battery capacity status in percentage to MCU, like 90%, 70%, 20% and etc.?

Thanks.

DRV10983-Q1: DRV10983 I2C communication error

Part Number: DRV10983-Q1

Hi Team,

The customer is experiencing below issue and needs your help.

He is using DRV10983SQ1, which he thinks is not the same as DRV10983.

When I2C reads only one byte, it returns NACK and there is no STOP. And the data read out is also abnormal.

He tried all the registers. If only 1 byte is read, the data read is 00 and SDA will be pulled low after the end.

CCS/CC1310: I have a problem that the IC heats up and vdds/Gnd Short-Circuit after used for a period (Several days).

Part Number: CC1310

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

>>When used for a period (several days) the IC heats up at the regulator.

After that, I measured the voltage (Vdds / GND) and found that it decreased (under 1.0V).

I tried to disconnect the power source from the IC and measure the resistance in the circuit (Vdds/Gnd) and found that the circuit is short (2.0 Ohms).

I want to know what happened or what causes the circuit impedance to short.

>>To ensure that it is not caused by other passive devices I have removed other passive devices out.

The result is the same (vdds/gnd = 1.5 Ohms).

>>Some circuit Board: 3.1, 20 ohms that are caused to the regulator heat up.

>>Please suggest me to solve this problem.  I found this problem around 20% of production after the launched product. >_<

Hi,

The customer used USB0 as host , and hardware design and dts setting are the same as USB1, USB1 can work normally. However USB0 cannot recognize device properly. Below is schematic and dts setting.

Part Number: TPS54560

I configured the circuit with TPS54560 .

50V battery input  ----->  5V ,5A  output

but , the VIN part burst at the moment  of connection.

It works fine with 20V and 30V input...

It shows 4.5v to 60v input on datasheet.

What's wrong?

what is the threshold different between AGL and DRC

dear TI

I can see that there is a threshold for AGL to limit the amplitude to the threshold in the full audio band.

and the DRC also has a limit

so I want to know the difference between them.

TPIC46L01: SPI Operation understanding

Part Number: TPIC46L01

I am trying to use TPIC46l01 gate driver to control my devices using SPI communication which is being converted from I2C data frame through I2C to SPI converter IC SC18IS602BIPW/S8HP.

I am able to control the devices by writing data, but when I try to read Fault status I am only able to read some times. If I connect load on GATE0 I am not able to read the fault status data frame, instead when I put load on rest of the GATES I am able to get the Fault status correctly without any issue. Even though I am able to control ALL the GATES it is not causing any problem, but when I try to perform a read operation the above mentioned issue is faced.

Please suggest the issues/mishandling possible at our end.

Also please check that is there any document or Sample code available by which I can better understand the working of this IC's SPI operation.

LSF0204: Standard Logic Levels

Part Number: LSF0204

Hi TI Team,

We are using LSF0204RU in one of our project. Can you help me to find DC logic levels (Voh, Vol, Vih and Vil) levels of the same. For open drain case we can consider pullup values, but in push-pull case how to calculate these values. As per my understanding for push pull application pullups not needed. I am using this part to translate 3.3V to 1.8V and 3.3V to 1.2V in push pull application.

LDC1614: Relationship between inductance and measurement resolution

$

Part Number: LDC1614

I have a question about LDC1614.

As the coil diameter increases (the number of turns increases), the inductance L increases,

but the detected frequency fsensor will decrease.

In that case, Is the measurement resolution lower as inductance increases?

In order to increase the measurement resolution,

should the inductance be as low as possible (with a smaller coil diameter) within the detection frequency range (up to 10 MHz)?

Also, could tell me the advantages of large inductance (large coil diameter)?

TPS7B6950EVM: Pd calculation issue

Part Number: TPS7B6950EVM

Hi Team:

There is a  Pd calculation issue of TPS7B6950 and condition as below

Vin=30.5V , Vout=5V , Iout=0.009 , Tc=90.9 °C , RθJC(top)=126.1 °C/W

PD=(30.5-5)*0.009=0.2295 , (0.2295*126.1)+90.91=119.8°C

As end customer rule , they will have 80% derating margin Tj=150*0.8=120°C  so 119.8°C  to close

Please help to confirm formula  is right ? or any suggestion about formula or another better solution for this application , thanks.

BQ78350-R1: TS1 readout in DAStatus2 register erroneous.

$

0

Part Number: BQ78350-R1

Hi,

We try to read the TS* temperatures from the DAStatus2 register.  The setup is configured in a way, that the TS3 will be the FET temperature and the other remaining two - i.e. TS1 and TS2 - measure the temperature of the battery cells. The Cell temperature itself is than the max of those two.

Now, I can read - or at least that is what we think - the DAStatus2 register correctly (According to the reference manual):

  1. Writing {0x72, 0x00, 0x00} - i.e. writing the MAC address 0x0072 to command 0x00.
  2. The first two bytes returned after writing to address 0x23 (little-Endian) give me a data length of 16 bytes ( Was also tested for other registers and returned also there the expected value - e.g. 32 bytes for DAStatus1 ). Seems to be working.
  3. The following data (16 bytes) is read from address 0x23, e.g. in [0.1°K]:
  1. CCcc -> TS1   150
  2. DDdd -> TS2   2966
  3. EEee - > TS3   3040
  4. FFff -> Cell 2966
  5. GGgg-> FET   3040
  6. As a reference also the register 0x08 - i.e. the temperature register was read - which also returns  2966.

This seems very much intended but only the value TS1 does not seem to be right. What could be gone wrong there? Configuration issue? Wrong datasheet?

Best regards,

Marco
