XTR117: Minimum input resistor value

Part Number: XTR117

Good morning,

We are designing a new product using the XTR117 IC.
Everything works as intended but I recently read this line from "Application Report SBOA107B Using the XTR115 with the PGA309 to Generate 4mA to 20mA Output" : a minimum value of R2 = 10kΩ should be used to insure the XTR115 stability.

Here is the related schematic :

I do not see any mention of minimum value for this resistor in the XTR datasheet and since we are using a similar schematic I wonder if this information applies to the XTR117 and is up to date?
Our prototype design is using a 1k resistor and we do not have any stability issue at the moment but should we consider redesigning that part for higher resistor value ? Is there a true risk by using 1k input resistor value that could leads to instability in some boards (I know that this change seems trivial but it will imply modification of our PCB and then internal cost/delay before production)?

Best regards.

Part Number: CC1111EMK868-915

Hi All,

I am using the CC1111 USB dongle to capture 902MHz EnOcean packets, using SmartRF Studio 7 to look at the packet content being captured. I am having mismatch issues with the packet's content. I am using the EnOcean development kit which provides hardware and software components as my packet baseline, and trying to adjust the CC1111 parameters (modulation, filter BW, deviation, etc.) and registers to receive the same content the development kit shows. In the test cases I have performed, the CC1111 receives 4 out of 7 bytes correct, and in the other case 8 out of 10, consistently giving the same result. I am thinking timing issues, but I am not sure what config change on the CC1111 may help. Any suggestions?

Part Number: CC1352R

Hi TI Expert,

I am wondering if current Openthread does indeed implement the source matching hardware accelerator in CC1352r?

I searched the radio layer implementation on radio.c,  and I can see that the bAppendSrcInd has been set to 0. If it is so, how the radio layer use the source matching results?

Thank you very much,

CCS/CC2640R2F: Reduce power consumption while paired

$

Part Number: CC2640R2F

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I am looking for a way to reduce the power consumption, when the device is paired.

Here is the task outline of the device:

The device is using a modified version of the ProjectZero source code. It senses a button press, which can occur twice a day and saved as a timestamp. Via BLE the information is sent to a smartphone.

For paring a key is required! For keeping it simple it is essential, that the user is paring the device with its smartphone once and then the app can run in the background. We want to keep the user interaction as low as possible.

The question is, if I can stay paired with the device the whole time, without using to much energy, due the device is powered by a battery?

In advertising mode, the device is consuming around 20uA, which is pretty good, but when paired it is above 100uA!!!

Thank you

Christian

TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: TDC1000-GASEVM - Ultrasonic Level Sensing - Noise in the COMPIN Channel

$

Part Number: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

I'm using a 1MHz transducer with a TDC1000-GASEVM for level measuring.

The container I'm using at the moment is a domestic 5L metal Keg as shown in the image below:

The TDC1000-GASEVM settings I'm using can be seen in the configurations panel below:

We are able to detect the Echo in the COMPIN without problems when the container is more than half full, but there is always some noise (I'm not sure if that is the Ringdown) in the COMPIN channel as indicated by the red rectangle in the image above.

Even when NO transducers are connected to the TDC1000-GASEVM, we can still see a similar disturbance in the same location.

According to this and this pages, the TDC1000 is able to detect levels under 3cm, however, we are being limited on approximately 10cm while using the standard TOF mode as can bee seen in the video below:

  • Apart from reducing NUM_TX, what else can we do in order to reduce the minimum detectable level?
  • In the standard TOF, in the RX channel grounded before the TX burst?
  • Would you recommend using two side-by-side ultrasonic transducers (one emitter and one receiver) in order to overcome this issue?

DP83849IFVS-EVK: FPGA+DP83849IFVS basic product evaluation and customer demo board for fiber port network communication

$

Part Number: DP83849IFVS-EVK

I used TI's demo interface board designed for DP83849.

And use the jumper to communicate with the demo board using the FPGA, and use the photoelectric conversion head (ALLRAY-a Chinese company) ATR-01105CMT/D-ST

The current debugging situation is as follows:

Both the electrical port and the fiber port management adopt the default settings. The Port A address is 00000 and the Port B address is 00001.

Electrical port:

The electrical ports of Port A and Port B are both tuned and can send and receive data normally.

Fiber port:

(The driver is the same as the electrical port)Switch the input and output signal differential line of Port B to the optical port, the FX_EN signal is pulled up, AN_1 is pulled down, and the rest are kept in the default state. After the optical fiber transceiver is connected through the optical fiber, the FPGA sends data to the PHY at a certain time interval. Now the port B's indicator lights up as follows:

The LED_LINK and LED_SPEED lights are always on, the LED_ACT light is blinking, the flashing frequency is consistent with the transmission data frequency, the photoelectric converter LINK/ACT indicator flashes, and the blinking frequency is consistent with the transmitted data frequency.

Communication situation:

No corresponding data is received on the PC side(Use wireshark capture tool and network assist),Data can be sent from the PC to the PHY and FPGA side,I am able to capture the data sent from the PC,however, FPGA side cannot receive the data sent by PC.

I use the management interface to read the values of some registers in the Port B optical port state as follows:

00H-2100H

01H-784DH

04H-0101H

05H-0000H

10H-0605H

16H-014BH

LMH1297: how to increase HEO/VEO read from LMH1297?

$

Part Number: LMH1297

Hi, team:

We develop a 12G-UHD converter product using  LMH1297. We use PHABRIX QX12G to generate 12G color bar signal to our board. The cable is belden  4694R+Amphenol 31-70548-12G plug. BNC socket  on the PCB is samtec BNC7T.  Lock status from LMH1297 is locked when cable length is 1m , but  the HEO/VEO read from LMH1297 is 0.59UI/178mV. This value is very low. When we use 30m cable, the signal is unlock frequently.

Lmh1297 datasheet said it can suport up to 65m , how can I increase the HEO/VEO by setting register? Our customer need to run at 30m.

I think our PCB layout has no problem, we use SAMTEC's  recommended design, and we have passed high speed SI simulation and final PCB TDR test.

Thanks a lot.

CC1310: Uniflash giving connection error only with updated version.

Part Number: CC1310

Hi,

I've run into a problem with having my overseas manufacturer program a new batch of PCBAs. It is not a new product, but it is the first time they have attempted to do the firmware flashing on my behalf.

I was puzzling over this since I can program the devices fine on my own laptop, lets call it PC1. I found a fresh computer (PC2), installed uniflash, and managed to recreate the issue...

  • Firstly, when I plug in the XDS110 (CC1310 launchpad) into PC2 I am prompted with an XDS110 firmware update before I can do anything else. I cannot choose to not update the XDS110 firmware.
  • I perform the XDS110 update (8.2.0.00004), and try to load my .hex firmware onto the board.
  • I get an error message "IcePick_C: Error connecting to the target: (Error -2131 @ 0x0) Unable to access device register ... ", etc.
  • Trying again from PC1, I am again prompted to update the firmware, but this time to 6.0.628.3.
  • After doing this, I can program the device without any issue again from PC1.

The only difference I can tell is PC1 has Uniflash 4.2.0.1490, whereas PC2 has the newest version.

I tried to install an older version of Uniflash on PC2 to test:

  • Uniflash 4.2.2 (update 7.0.100.0 for the XDS110) does not work on PC2
  • Uniflash 4.2.0 (update 6.0.628.3 for the XDS110) DOES work on PC2

So to get to my question: Why does the newer xds110 firmware not work to program my devices? How can I fix this?

As an aside, strangely I can flash the launchpad fine, but not my own device when using the external XDS connectors.

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I'm using SDK simplelink 3.10

I'm using a modified version of the sensor project.

Symptoms:

I have a function (this function has a vector allocated in the stack by a simple uint8_t my_vector[30] = {0}; and a System_printf("anything") ) called on dataIndCb

    --->> The program doesn't crash IF I use STATIC uint8_t my_vector[30] = {0};  OR if I let the System_printf("") there, inside the function .

    ---->>The program CRASHES IF I remove the static from the declaration of my vector and remove the System_printf();

I known those prints and statics may have nothing to do with the exception at all, but this happens.

The (poorly informative) exception information on ROV and in the Register view is show in the following:
