MSP430FR2512: Proximity state not properly registering

$

Part Number: MSP430FR2512

I have a couple of questions related to the settings of the proximity threshold. I have a proximity sensor with the following parameters:

tSensor PRX00 =
{
    // Basic Properties
    .TypeOfSensor = eProx,
    .SensingMethod = eSelf,
    .DirectionOfInterest = eDOIDown,
    .pvCallback = NULL,
    .ui8NrOfCycles = 1,
    .pCycle = PRX00_Cycles,
    .pSensorParams = (tGenericSensorParams*)&PRX00_Params,
    // Conversion Control Parameters
    .ui16ConversionCount = 800,
    .ui16ConversionGain = 100,
    .ui8FreqDiv = 4,
    .ui8ChargeLength = 0,
    .ui8TransferLength = 0,
    .bModEnable = true,
    .ui8BiasControl = 3,
    .bCsDischarge = true,
    .bLpmControl = false,
    .ui8InputSyncControl = 0,
    .bTimerSyncControl = false,
    .bIdleState = true,
    // Tuning  Parameters
    .ui16ProxThreshold = 20,
    .ui16NegativeTouchThreshold = 20,
    .ui16ErrorThreshold = 900,
    .ui16TimeoutThreshold = 65535,
    .ProxDbThreshold.DbIn = 0,
    .ProxDbThreshold.DbOut = 3,
    .TouchDbThreshold.DbIn = 0,
    .TouchDbThreshold.DbOut = 3,
    .bCountFilterEnable = true,
    .ui8CntBeta = 1,
    .bSensorHalt = false,
    .bPTSensorHalt = true,
    .bPTElementHalt = true,
    .ui8LTABeta = 7,
    .bReCalibrateEnable = true,
};

The sensor has one element, with a touch threshold of 7.

Sometimes when I touch the sensor, the value of the delta is greater than the proximity threshold (which I understand from the docs is an absolute value), and even greater than the touch threshold, however the sensor does not register as being in a proximity state, and the LTA adjusts downwards.

I have attached the graph below to demonstrate.  The LTA, Count and Proximity state were sampled at 50ms, the active scan mode measurement period is 25ms. The touch and proximity thresholds are shown on the graph as I understand them (i.e. 20 less than the LTA for the prox and 7/128 * LTA less than the LTA for touch).

As far as I can see from the graph, the sensor goes out of proximity state even though the delta is sufficiently high. Even if the sensor value changed signifcantly in the measurement between samples (which seems unlikely given the neighbouring measurements), I would expect the debounce parameters to handle this.

My questions are:

1) Have I correctly understood how the proximity and touch thresholds work?
2) If so, why does the sensor not register as in proxmity and why the LTA continue to adjust downwards?

I have wake-on-proximity enabled if this is relevant

Thanks!

Part Number: TMS320F28376S

Dear Sir ,

we are using the TMS320F28376S in one of our project , and using the c28x and CLA to perform various tasks , in order to debug the CLA code

i have insert __mdebugstop();   at the point of interest  and connecting the the target and loading symbol.

the part for debug CLA is working , but how i can resume to running mode after stopped at debug  ( i have disconnected from the CLA) , but i can see that

the CLA is not running after preform debug season. (the CLA is toggling GPIO so i can see that is not working).

DS90UB954-Q1: DS90UB954-953 maximum line length

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hello,

in a related post it was said, that in a 953/954 system the 953 can have 4 CSI lanes and while the 954 can have 2 lanes.

Since this means that we write faster in than we read out, I assume that one of both chips must have a line buffer.

If so, can you tell me the size of that line buffer? Is there a maximum line length which can be transmitted?

We intent to transmit non-video data over a FPD-LINK from an FPGA. Could we have an endless Line length, or at least the maximum 2^16 bytes of the CSI specification?

Best regards

TPS2493: TPS2493PWR

Part Number: TPS2493

Hello

We are using the TPS2493PWR. During tests I observed the following behaviour. If the device switches off because of an overcurrent event occured, it tries to restart in time Intervals with gaps of TRETRY as described in the datasheet. How many times does it do that? I observed different number of retry cycles: e.g 13 times, 28 times, 41 times.. After that, the device shut down and could be restarted by eliminating the overcurrent source and performing a power cycle.

Best regards

Hi,

I am designing a Product using "TMS320F28379D" MCU. I wanna program the MCU using (USB).  Because the customers don't be having a JTAG. There will be only one USB connector provided. Now for software updates, I wanna flash the code to TMS320F28379D using the USB connector.

I saw there are different boot modes available in TMS320F28379D. One of them is SCI-Mode. I can provide an onboard  USB to UART converter. But I wanna know more about how it will work or the procedure to accomplish this. And if this is not possible do I need to have an onboard JTAG circuitry like the launchpad?

TMS320C6748: Boot loader in tms320c6748

Hi,

I want to implement Power on self test (POST) to my  board. From what i have understood  the POST is done during the boot process before it enters the main application.

Here are a few doubts that i have:

1) So if i am to add POST codes how to add it along the boot code which is written by the manufacturer(of course TI) and i think it cant be modified.

2)  Is the Secondary boot loader  in any way related to the self test routines.

Thanks and Regards,

TMS570LC4357: How to configure SCI+DMA for receiving varying sized packets?

$

Part Number: TMS570LC4357

In a multitasking environment we want to use the SCI at 921kbps.

To avoid overloading the processor, we want to use DMA.

On the transmit side, it seems easy.

Store packets in a packet buffer, and send each packet using DMA.

When the packet transmission is complete, take an interrupt, and send the next packet.

On reception, it is more difficult.

What you would like to do is to implement a ring buffer, letting the DMA fill the ring buffer.
At the end of the ring buffer, the DMA should  reset to the start of the ring buffer.
Some solution is needed to guarantee, the ring buffer does not overflow.
Alternatively, the DMA should stop at the end of the buffer, and generate an interrupt.
In the interrupt, the DMA is reconfigured to start at the beginning of the buffer.
(The SCI then probably need to have a FIFO allowing the interrupt to be processed
without losing characters)

A "getc" routine would check the current status of the DMA to determine if any characters
have been received, and if so, return the character  or else, a negative status.

Since there appears to be no way to determine the status of the DMA, since
the Working Area is only updated when channels are changed, and appears not to
be updated with the last transfer, this seems not to be possible.

So how do you reliably use the DMA with SCI on receiving varying sized packages?

Is it possible to set frame size to '1', and block size to the size of the ring buffer?

Would the Working Area be updated every time a frame (one character) is received?

Hi Team,

SN74AXC4T245 is a direction-controlled device, do we have the test data of the transition time for SN74AXC4T245 to switch from one direction to another? Which is, the settling time of the output when the direction of SN74AXC4T245 is changed from "A to B" to "B to A" controlled by "DIR" pin. Could you please give some comments on that?

    In the xwr18xx demo,there is a configuration about LVDS stream.If I want to stream the data only in sw mode,the parameters is as follows:lvdsStreamCfg -1 1 0 1.Is that right?

BTW,if hw mode works,only CBUFF_DataFmt_ADC_DATA and CBUFF_DataFmt_CP_ADC_CQ are supported,is that right?

Thanks,

Regards,

Rata

CCS/CC1310: Not able to achieve high power of +14dBm for transmit using firmware ( works with RF Studio)

Part Number: CC1310

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

We are using the cc1310 module ( Mfg by eByte) on our Gateway. This module is able to transmit at full power (+15dBm) when configured by RF Studio.

However using the same configuration file we are not able to achieve full power by our firmware.

We have tried following:;

  1. Defining CCFG_FORCE_VDDR_HH =1 in predefined symbols
  2. Adding #define in ccfg.c file before first include
  3. Editing Startup Files/ccfg.c in cc1310 devices folder to set CCFG_FORCE_VDDR_HH =1
  4. Removing include of ccfg.c file from Startup files folder and adding into Project with setting as in point#3
  5. Checking the over-ride statement for max power config
  6. Supplying +3V3 from external power supply ( Just in case power from board was not sufficient), in-fact power reduced to 12.5dBm
  7. Using source code build in different PC

The max power we are able to measure is 13.8dBm with PA enabled (Our module has a PA which allows max 30dBm power, which is achieved when same module is working with RF Studio)

TPS54386: dual channel with positive and negative outputs

Part Number: TPS54386

Hi team,

My customer is looking for a +10V 3A & -8V 3A dual channel power supply for OLED screen. I'm wondering is it possible to make it happen with dual channel buck like TPS54386. I've do tests on TPS54386 EVM and it's capable of providing 2A for each channel at the same time. Simplified schematics is illustrated as follow. Basically 2 channels with 18V & 8V outputs, using 8V as ground.

The one disadvantages I've think of is that +10V is easily affected when short or open circuit happens at -8V since it's the difference of 2 channels. Any other comments on this configuration? Has anyone actually do this in practical?

Thanks so much.

Hi,

When i look at the RF driver code from SDK, for example rfCarrierWave project, i found the txPower configure is different from SmartRFStudio, any explanations?

Thanks

CC1352R: GPTIMER target-specific module usage

Part Number: CC1352R

Hi,

I'm building an application based on a custom board using the SimpleLink CC1352R (Rev. E). My application is based on the TI-RTOS (SDK version 3.20) and I need to use the DMM layer to combine both BLE and custom SubGHz module. For some time-critical operations (not related with the RF part actually) I need to use the 4 GPTIMERs provided by the MCU so I am here to ask which TI-RTOS module I should use, as the HAL Timer module is not suitable for me because of the abstraction layer that doesn't allow me to use some advanced hardware functionalities such Capture and Compare functions.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

CC2531EMK: One more CC2531 not detected after flashing, but in a different fashion

Part Number: CC2531EMK

Hi everybody,

I'm facing an issue discussed lots of times before here in the Forums.
In fact I've gone through all of the hints I already found - without any success.

For you to know what's the deal: I got a CC2531 USB Stick, the downloader cable as well as the CC Debugger.
Flashing works perfectly fine, the firmware is uploaded and verified properly. All LED's are green.
It even told me the EB firmware is out of date and it shall be updated - which I did (later on) - didn't change the behaviour

But after flashing things start to crumble down. The CC2531 USB Board is not recognized at all.
Tried it on 2 different Windows PCs, prepared with drivers and all that stuff - not even an unknown device in the device manager.
On Linux (Raspberry Pi), dmesg does not do a thing. lsusb neither

A funny fact which brings me to the thought it is not a defective hardware: When both, the CC Debugger and the CC2531 USB Stick are connected, the Device Control Panel of SmartRF Studio actually receives packages from a nearby Zigbee Device when discovering the network on button press

Firmwares I've tried:

(The Original of Packet sniffer) - sniffer_fw_cc2531.hex found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\Packet Sniffer\bin\general\firmware
(Zigbee2MQTT - Default) - CC2531_DEFAULT_20190608.zip found at https://github.com/Koenkk/Z-Stack-firmware/tree/master/coordinator/Z-Stack_Home_1.2/bin/default
(Zigbee2MQTT - Source Routing) - CC2531_SOURCE_ROUTING_20190619.zip found at https://github.com/Koenkk/Z-Stack-firmware/tree/master/coordinator/Z-Stack_Home_1.2/bin/source_routing

As it seems to be a common Problem with the downloader cable - I checked all the Pins for short circuits - didn't find any.

Is there any part of bootloader/firmware that could be flashed in addition, for the USB stick to be recognized as hardware without the CC Debugger attached?

Anything I haven't thought about? Anything I'm doing wrong?
