TPS65982-EVM: Evaluation of Type-C power suppliews/chargers using TPS65982-EVM

Part Number: TPS65982-EVM

Hi,

I need to develop a tester for Type-C power supplies/chargers manufactured by many manufacturers (Samsung, Pixel, Philips ...)

I have purchased TPS65982-EVM for that purpose and trying to configure some PS/Charger samples to provide 5V, 9V, 12V.

I have set the S1 switch to configuration #1 or #7 or #10 but I couldn't find 9V/12V on TP2 or TP3.
In some cases I have measured 1.67V on TP2/TP3 but NOT 9V or 12V although, the PS/Charger samples declare on high voltages (9V,12V) capabilities.

Can anybody tell me what is my fault?
Can you recommend on other solution for evaluation of Type-C PS/chargers?

Thanks,

Amos.

Hi E2E team.

As far as I know, DC_Boost pin is reserved TI test purpose in I2C mode.

I'm curious about how the TUSB215 works in I2C mode, if DC_Boost pin is connected with 24K pull-down resistor.

I would appreciate it if you could let me know with this.

Thanks.

ADS4449: ADS4449: SPI logic level

Part Number: ADS4449

H i team,

The ADS4449 datasheet describes "All digital inputs support 1.8-V logic levels. SPI supports 3.3-V logic levels". It means that SPI supports 1.8V logic level and 3.3V logic level. But the typical value of High-level Output voltage of SDOUT is DRVDD (1.8V). When ADS4449 communicates with 3.3V chip in SPI, does SDOUT signal line need additional circuit to convert to 3.3V? In other words, can the 3.3V chip recognize the SDOUT high-level of ADS4449?

Part Number: CC1200

Dear Sir,

We found that CC1200 EM has the output variation about 2dBm.(Max. 3dBm)

So, we first check the similar question on your E2E site as the below comment:

https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/other-wireless/f/667/p/292548/1023262

I quess that the internal RF block of CC1200 is similar to the internal RF block of CC1120.

Please let me know the below question:

1. What's the high output power range of CC1200 chip? (For example, Tx power 10~14dBm)

2. in maximum output power range, what's the variation range of CC1200 chip?

3. What's the low output power range of CC1200 chip? (For example, Tx power -6, -3, 0~10dBm)

4. in low output power range, what's the variation range of CC1200 chip?

Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1

Hi

My customer have query about BQ76PL455A-Q1. They use 3 BQ76PL455A-Q1 chips to collect a total of 48 string monomers. The problems occurred in the process of use are as follows:

1. When doing the high and low temperature experiment, the high temperature is 85 ° c and the low temperature is -30 ° c. It is found that some single voltage jumps, as shown in the figure below:

2.  Use VP power supply VIO of BQ76PL455A-Q1. Measure 3 BQ76PL455A-Q1s batteries cell_top. The power consumption of the first 455 is 13ma, the power consumption of the second 455 is 6.2ma, and the power consumption of the second 455 is 5.7ma. BMS runs for a long time.

3. During battery collection, sometimes the voltage of the first battery is low.

Waiting for your reply.

Thanks

DRV8301-69M-KIT: IQ_FULL_SCALE vs. ADC_FULL_SCALE

$

Part Number: DRV8301-69M-KIT

Dear TI Experts:

From the DRV8301-69M-KIT, I thought I understand the meanings of variables IQ_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V and ADC_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V.

The ADC_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE values are defined by the specific hardware sensing circuit.

The IQ_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE values are used to normalize all of the voltage/current terms to a per unit value (pu). So we can set the IQ_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE smaller than ADC_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE.

But I am confused when I read the following table, shown in GUI Quick Start Guide: InstaSPIN_FOC_F2806xM (qsg_gui_instaspin_foc.pdf).

Q1. For HVMTR kit, the maximum voltage input is 409.9V for Vbus, U, V, and W. So the ADC_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V equals 409.9. But the IQ_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V is NOTsmallerthan ADC_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V. Why?

Q2.  For HVMTR kit, if we set IQ_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V= 297, obtained by 409.0*0.724, which is smaller than ADC_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V.

Then we can apply lab2 project of InstaSPIN to get the offset values.  Is it OK?

Q3. If the answer is 'NO' in Q2, could you explain the reason for us?    Is there a rule for determining the IQ_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V based on ADC_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V?

Look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks in advance~

BQ40Z80: Charger connection inside the battery

$

Part Number: BQ40Z80

Could someone please check solution and give hints can this be working or not?

There will also be MCU that will talk to bq40z80 and charger through SMB and switch on/off M2 and M4. Idea is that everything is inside the battery charger, mcu. When battery starts talking to outside host (here is not drawn) and decides that charging can be started, M4 turns on and M2 off. During other states M2 follows M1.

Will this work? My concerns is can this not break some bq40z80 internal logic regarding different potentials on BAT, VCC, PACK during charge?

Maybe there are better charger commutation ideas than this?

Part Number: CC2642R

Hi All,

I have been asked by customer that how to perform a test according to Bluetooth Spec "RF-PHY.TS.5.1.0".

Especially because they want to measure AoA, I would like you to tell me how to set up the test described in Chapters 4.5.37-4.5.40.

I looked up Application Notes, but I couldn't find any materials in line with "RF-PHY.TS.5.1.0".

Are there any materials that can be deployed to customers?

LMH6643: Datasheet spec

$

Part Number: LMH6643

Hi

LMH6643 datasheet was changed from P-ver to Q-ver as below.

What is meaning AT TEMPERATURE EXTREMES? Total temperature range -40C to +85C? or only -40C and +85C?

I'm confusing, because, it was deleted "at Tj=25C" on the P-ver datasheet.

So,I think, Q-ver say the right values are spec at total temperature range, and the left values are spec at only -40C and +85C.

Or The right values are spec at room temp, and the left value are spec at total temperature range.

Which Is correct?

SN74LVC16T245: Duty ratio of input and output

Part Number: SN74LVC16T245

Hi Team,

Please help me answer the follow question from my customer, thank you so much.

The table of “7.3 Recommended Operating Conditions” in the data sheet
has VIH = 2V and VIL = 0.8V when VCCI = 3V to 3.6V.
In this case, the duty will change, I think.
For example, when VCCI = 3V and High = 3V and Low = 0V Duty = 50% signal is input,
the output will be 51 to 52%.
Is Duty really changing between input and output?
How much is the error?

Part Number: XEVMK2LX

Hi,

I have query regarding the K2L clocks. Kindly confirm whether this is ok.

1) We are using CDCM6208 to generate SYSCLK and all other clocks related to K2L like, DDR3 clock, SGMII, Altcore clock, USB PCIe etc. We are using LMK04828 to generate SYSREF for K2L, DEVCLK and SYSREF for FMC connector for AFE7500 and AFE7xxx interface. One clock output from CDCM6208 is used as reference input (Clkin0) to LMK04828 for Sync between the two Clock generators. Kindly confirm whether this is OK.

2) To comply with JESD204B we are using Device clock from same clock source that is used for the RF module/ Transceiver other than CDCM6208. For RF Transceiver we are using LMK04828 clock ic.

there fore we have changed the clock source from CDCM6208 to LK04828.

In K2L Datasheet 222

We will be using Altcore with setting 01 instead of Sysclk. The frequency must be 100MHZ or 122.88MHz for ALtcore?

We will be using sysclk only for DFEand JESD sourced from LMK04828..

Will this work. ??.any changes to be taken care other than this register setting?

Kindly reply,
Regards,
Sumathi
