Part Number:TPS659037
Hello,
The customer and I were reviewing the document SLIU011E "TPS659037 User's Guide to Power AM572x and AM571x". They are switching to the AM5716 and now evaluating this PMIC to power the processor.
We noticed in Figure 1 of that application note that there are two discrete bucks providing 5V and 3.3V to the PMIC. The 5V buck is 5A capable and the 3.3V buck is 3A capable.
Are those two buck converters capable of supplying enough power for any AM5716 application? Or is it possible the customer's application will need higher current buck converters for the 5V and 3.3V rails (given they still follow the same configuration as Figure 1)?
I've shown them the Power Estimation Tool for the AM571x, but I think they would rather start with buck converters they know will supply enough current, and only size them lower if their application allows it.
Thank you!
Regards,
Ryan B.
