We had a failed product returned to us for repair and analysis. The failure was traced to an MSP430F1232 device that is used in the product. It looked as though its Flash program memory was either erased or corrupted. After reprogramming the part it seemed to work fine but we replaced it as a precaution.
Aside from an ESD spike what would cause a Flash memory loss or corruption in the device?
