Hi.
I am designing a new GPRS/GPS product, where one concern is the peak current consumption during GPRS transmission.
Attached is the part of the datasheet of the GPRS module that we will use, regarding the power supply consumption profile.
The estimated nominal and peak currents for this design are:
NOMINAL: 450mA (average consumption)
PEAK: 2.9A during some miliseconds (2.5A of peak for the GPRS module + 400mA for the remaining circuit)
The datasheet of the GPRS module recommends a switching frequency >= 600KHz (a buck controller with ajustable frequency would be a good ideia for this design)
The power supply must operate within 10 to 32V of input voltage and the output voltage will be 5V.
Which buck controllers produced by TI could I use for this design?
Thanks in advance.
