I need to develop an interface to transfer data into an Apple iOS device in real time at a high speed, as fast as possible.
I have read that if I use Bluetooth 4.0 I do not need to join the AppleMFI (Made For iPhone) program and licence my product as an MFI accessory.
With that being the case is I use a TI Bluetooth 4.0 complaint transceiver chip and mount it on my own circuit board (instead of using a 3rd party Bluetooth 4.0 module) can I still freely use this and market it without having to get MFI approval?
I am looking at the CC256x chip and would be interested to know how fast I can transfer data using this device - I read that theoretical maximum data rate is 24Mbs - how close can you get to this?
Many thanks in advance!
