IWR1443BOOST / IWR1642BOOST: cm or mm accuracy distance measurement on a range 10 m with speed of object 4 m/s

Hi,

We are planning to use IWR1443 or IWR1642 for distance measurement at 0 to 10 m. Distance to be measured to a moving object (steel plate 1m²) where we can install corner reflector if needed for a better signal-noise ratio. The speed of an object is 0-4 m/s. The movement is linear only, i.e. the object is moving along a straight line. We need to detect the position only of one object. Accuracy should be around cm, though mm accuracy would be nice to get. Data rate should be at least 10-20Hz, though the faster, the better (ideally - 100Hz).

As far as I understand to achieve higher accuracy, it is needed to implement zoom FFT to detect an object within +-0,5 cm accuracy (as shown in TI's High Accuracy Range Measurement -14xx )

IWR1642 has shown better than IWR1443 accuracy in High Accuracy Range Measurement - 16xx labs. Though you write that "14xx will have much lower processing latency by using HWA". So, IWR1642 is slower than IWR1442, but it could be fast enough for certain application, like our requirements of max speed 4m/s.

Q: what is the speed limit of the moving object to keep desirable accuracy? It is possible to install corner reflector on my object to get high SNR.

Q: Is the data rate of the object position up to 100Hz achievable? 

Q: onboard antennas on IWR1443boost and IWR1642boost EVM modules are not directional. Could you suggest how directional antenna could be implemented (wiki, other sources)? The reason that I need directional antenna is that object moves along other steal structure (0,5-1m away from it) and I will get a false echo from surrounding objects.
