SimpliciTI, MSP-EXP43-FR5739 and CC1101 EMK

I have two MSP-EXP430FR5739 Experimenter's Boards, each connected to a CC1101EMK.

I want to somehow test the wireless connectivity between these two boards, so I tried to load the SimpliciTI demo "peer to peer" code for EXP430FR5739. I am loading the "LinkTo" code to one of the boards, and the "LinkListen" code to the other board, but nothing happens.

Is this happening because the demo code for EXP430FR5739 defines the connections with a CC2500 RF module? What should I do to have the code work? (Or any simple code that will establish connectivity between my boards)
