DRV8801A-Q1: nFault and overcurrent protection with Rsense

Part Number:DRV8801A-Q1

Hi,

I don't understand really well the overcurrent mechanism on the DRV8801-Q. It is said that the nFault signal is pulled low when a short is detected. But how this short is detected ? Is it with the I(trip) that we set with the Rsense resistor ?

My question is : if I set a current limit with the Rsense and if this current is exceeded in the motor, does it trigger the nFault pin ?

Thank you in advance for these explanations,

Regards,

Yannick
