Part Number:CC2650
Tool/software:TI-RTOS
Hello,
I am building a battery-powered wireless system that requires a bluetooth connection to a computer. I am looking into using the CC2650 and have a couple of questions. Firstly, I understand that the CC2650 is configurable for various different bluetooth protocols. Which protocol is best for communication with a PC directly (not through a bluetooth dongle)? Are there any resources you suggest for tradeoffs on the different protocols that are available on this chipset? Secondly, I recall that the CC26xx family requires the use of TI's RTOS bluetooth stack in order to function (I understand that the bluetooth related registers are only accessible through this pre-built software or some other APIs). If I want to get started with a project from scratch, what are the bare minimum files required to program this chip to allow for PC communication? Finally, I have the smartrf06 EB with the cc2650EM-7ID (I believe this is the 7x7mm package) for testing, and would like to know if there is any differences in the board files or any software config settings between the 7x7mm chip and the 4x4mm chip?
EDIT: To clarify, I am using CCS dev environment and plan to debug my custom hardware (once I build it) through JTAG using the SmartRF06 EB.
Thank you!
Best,
Andrew
