Verification of AGC settings of AIC3204

I have been using AIC3204 for my speech collection application with a very sensitive microphone of sensitivity -50dB (with 1v as reference)

now i am trying to use the AGC for my application so i have choosen below settings

(a)Target gain = –5.5 dB
(b) Attack time = 0 ms and decay time = 500 ms
(c) Noise threshold = –70 dB
(d) Maximum gain applicable= 35 dB
(e) Hysteresis = 4 dB
(f) Debounce time from normal to silence = 0 ms
(g) Debounce time from silence to normal = 0 ms.

our is a very noisy environment in which there is small amount of persistent dc-generator noise(hum) was present in background more over in that noisy environment i have to capture the voice from an individual

so above are my settings what actually i want is how to verify the above settings

for that i was trying to apply a ADC-DAC loop back and test it on an DSO(scope) i am able to observe the gain control as a wave form

how to understand this -5.5 fulscale dB and how to measure it  whether my setting was true or not?

how exactly i could measure this attack time and decay time on a scope or any other methodology

help me soon
