We are testing a design that uses the TI PCM5310 CODEC and have run in to some issues with the analog outputs.
1. When we send the output of DAC12 to LO1L and LO1R (register 24 contains 01110111, registers 25 and 26 contain 00000000) analog signal levels and noise are fine. However when we send the output of DAC12 to all three output channel pairs, LO1, LO2 and HPO, (registers 24, 25, and 26 all contain 01110111) the analog output is about 10 dB low and the noise floor is very high.
2. In the course of checking the noise performance of the analog outputs, we ran in to another odd behavior: with a digital silence signal, and only the LO1R signal connected to DAC12 R channel output (register 24 contains 01110000, registers 25 and 26 all zeroes), the noise floor in the LO1L left channel increases although it's connected to nothing.
3. We can't find any errata or additions to the data sheet - are there any?
