Hi guys,
That's my very first time in the forum, and my very first time with Texas MSP430 Family of controllers.
We are migrating some projetc related to energy metering from another MSP430 family member which was running on the ADC12 to the very nwe MPS430F6733. We are also planning to take advantage of its Sigma Delta 24 bit converters. Moreover, since we are willing to measure rms currents down to 20mA using a 100uomh shunts. Some signal conditioning and filtering would be purely analog, There are some circuitry acting as an AFE for this project. We are still not sure about using the PGA.
The main question, is not a question at all. I hve read a little about this wonderful SD24 converter, but got very ver confused, at the point that it's not clear how I going to configure that. The resolution changes as the OSR changes. Also the relation ship betwen FS and FM and the built in filter.
Really need some advice, to get some kickstart with it. The energy meters are supposed to work around 50 or 60Hz. But some applications are likely to measure harminics (THD) up to 1500hz or so. So, from the meter point of view, 3000 or 3200 samples per second would do the trick.
What would be a good start point with the SD14 config ?.
Yes, I dowload the examples for the 6733 from Texas, got some very short code sor differente SD24 conversion approachs, but is mean really.
Also, got the TIs energy library, but not sure is SD24 is fully used across it. It appears at some points invoking some macros.
Any help would be greatly apreciated. Also, if you have some usefull links, your are very welcome.
Happy new year !!!!
Pedro.
