I am designing a +/- 7V system and was looking at the TPS65130 IC. The datasheet says that the Power Saving Mode for positive and negative helps with the efficiency at light loads. Most of the time, my loads (pretty symmetrical for + and -) will be less than 10 mA with somewhere around 20mA max continuous output. I am inputting a 5V regulated supply. The part datasheet shows that efficiency at light loads will be better with PSM on for both positive and negative (Figures 8 and 13). The EVM datasheet shows that efficiency will be better with PSM ON for POS and OFF for negative with 5V in (Figures 1 and 2). Can someone explain this, or is there an error on one of the datasheets?
