I am very confused about pros and cons of using modules (e.g PAN1720) over the discrete parts. For one, I know that the discrete parts are cheaper in volume than the modules including possibly the discrete components around the parts.
My question is some module vendors are claiming the modules don't need any form of certifications into a product but the TI website is also saying that as long as the reference design is adhered to strictly, BQB certification is not necessary.
So what are really the benefits of a module over the discrete parts ?
