Dear Sir/Madam
I would like to use a TI step up DC-DC power supply to power my Solenoid and would like some advice on my approach.
My application is batter powered application.
My power source is Li-poly batteries, these are rated 4.2V 2000mAh. (8.4W)
The solenoid are rated to 9V 1.3A. (11.4W)
The solenoid require short pulses of 200ms.
Therefore i need to generate 9V 1.3A, from the battery.
But as the solenoid only requires a 200mS pulse, would i be able to design the circuit so that i do not need a very high output current device? Maybe with larger capacitors?
If i am correct even though the solenoid is rated 9V 1.3A, but the current consumption of the device at 9V will very minimum (within few mA) due to a pulse of 200ms?
What is the best approach?
Regards
