wlan_connect return 0, but no callback, how to debug?

I am a beginner with CC3000, so excuse if these are FAQ, which perhaps can be found somewhere in wiki (where exactly?).

I send a

wlan_connect(WLAN_SEC_UNSEC,(char*)"aaa",3,0,0,0);

it returns 0, but then no futher callback (no IRQ signaled), that connection is established or anything else.

nvmem_read_sp_version return "...06010A" (on SPI), so i assume i have version 6.1.10?

Now i want to create a logfile. On which pin of CC3000MOD do i find NS_UART_DBG and WL_UART_DBG or UART_DBG?

Is it needed to pull WL_EN1 down to see log output?

Do i need to call netapp_set_debug_level to see log output?

Do i need WL_RS232_TX/WL_RS232_RX for something beside CC3000 radio tool (especially for logging)?

When should i see activity on the log pins? Is permanently sent log output or only e.g. when there is activity on Wifi?
