I have a design based on the TPS40170 that already works well and we want to use the same controller again in a new design but with variable loads. I tailored the compensation loop of the current design with the Tina averaged model. It was always running in CCM. With the lighter loads, the controller will cross over into DCM at some stage and the lightest load is so light that I won't be able to get the controller to run in CCM all the time. Obviously, I want to make sure the new design is stable over the whole load range. Do the averaging models work for DCM?
