Customer is looking for a a dual phase buck converter according to the following application:
Vin = 32V - 42V
Vout = 28V
Iout,max = 5.5A
Efficiency should be very high (~95% or higher) in order to decrease (or avoid) the heat-sink.
According to the MOSFET, I'm thinking about the CSD18534Q5A device.
It is my attention to implement a dual 180deg-out-of phase buck converter in which the following components will be used.
1. DRIVERS
In addition to the LM5112 I noticed also 2 devices: UCC27210/1 and UCC27200/1 drivers.
I would like to understand what exactly are the main differences between these devices and whether there are other recommended drivers.
2. Controller
I would also like to get a recommendation for a controller for the application; it might be a dedicated single controller which drives the two buck converters (such as the LM5119 and LM25119) and also two separated controllers which will be paralleled.
Regarding teh LM5119 - I noticed it includes internal high current drivers; would additional external MOSFET drivers like the UCC27210 contribute to system efficiency?
May I emphasize again that the main issue is the efficiency (efficiency at light loads is less important).
