UCC23513: Active pulldown

Hi,

I have a question related to ”Active Pulldown" of UCC23513. 

Is this function act as mirror clamp to prevent self-turn-on phenomenon?

Or, should we correspond it by external circuit?

If it can prevent by Active Pulldown, is external protection unnecessary?

Or, Is it necessary in some cases?
