BQ24079T - Overdischarge Protection Voltage

hi,

we are using the BQ24079T chip in a wireless product to charge a Li-Ion battery (~350mAH; 4.2V). the problem we are seeing is that when the device is run continuously and the battery is discharged below the over-discharged protection threshold (2.4V or 3.V depending on battery model type), the battery protects itself and disconnects the cell. when charge voltage is applied i see that there is a short pulse of about 2V (10ms) on BAT pin, but then it drops down to 1V. this level is not enough to override the battery protection circuit (it needs 3V) so the battery can be recharged again.

what is the expected voltage level when the charge is applied if the battery is completely drained ? is there anything we can adjust/change to increase this voltage the appropriate 3V?

any info is greatly appreciated.

thanks
