We have designed a 5V power supply using LM3150, the input to the is from battery. When there is no load the output voltage is constant, but when we start increasing the load or a sudden capacitive load is applied the output voltage drops to 2.3V for 4.8ms and after every approx 2.2s the output voltage drops to 2.3V for 4.8ms.
The power supply is designed using workbench. The difference from workbench and the actual design is the Inductor value. In the actual value we have used 6.8uH instead of 4.53uH. At the output we have 120uF and 22uF aluminium capacitor.
When load is applied the switching frequency starts varying, but when there is no load then switching frequency is constant.
Would like to know what might be causing the output to drop and how to solve the issue.
