Part Number: CC2500
Hello
Is there a table / list of the hex values you would expect to see in CC2500's RSSI register (say using MSK at 250kbps and at various distances between transmitter and receiver in a perfect RF environment)?
I ask because when using packet mode with SmartRF Studio and the development boards the 'calculated' / displayed RSSI (in dBm) seems about right (varies almost 'linearly' as the separation between transmitter and receiver increases) but when building a production board and looking at the actual register value (prior to calculation) there seems to be a range of values which doesn't tally with the dBm calculation (convert to decimal and apply subtraction / division etc) shown in the data sheet.
I am viewing the raw values currently because the calculations yield unexpected results.
The raw values are -
Transmitter and Receiver very close together 6F
Approx 0.5metre separation 27
Approx 1metre separation 06
Approx 2metres separation F4
Approx 8metres separation DD
I appreciate I am not running in a perfect RF environment (I have been involved with RF design for many years) but these register readings seem to be at odds with the calculations to be applied (which will certainly not produce anything resembling a 'linear' change of dBm)
Thanks.
