TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT: Processed encoder signal erroneous - failed Field oriented control

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT

Hello all

First time posting on E2E.  I am using the TI inverter kit to control a 1 HP Synchronous reluctance motor. This is part of a dyno setup. I am facing some issues in the encoder signal processing.

I am using a Timken industrial encoder with single ended output and line driver. It is connected to the DSP board with a sheath cable. A TTK lambda DC supply is given to the TI kit - DC bus.

At low values of DC bus voltage (< 50 V) and low values of current commands (<1.5 A), the theta signal obtained by processing encoder A,B,Z looks clean sawtooth and currents are sinusoidal.

Above this voltage or above this current, the theta signal looks chopped with abrupt changes. So the FOC control fails. PFA the two scenarios.

Any ideas on how to solve this issue ?

Let me know if you need further information or pictures. Some people say it is EMI or ground loop, but I don't know how to fix them.

Thanks

Zubair
