CC2640: RF Test in volume manufacturing

Hello,

   I'm working on a sensor device that uses a CC2640, CC2590, and onboard chip antenna. We're looking at a few different ways of testing RF during manufacturing; from a basic "can we communicate" to a full blown DTM using an external tester (Anritsu, Litepoint, etc.) How do most people do this during manufacturing? Volume will be about 1k per week, so we'd prefer gang testing (10 at a time) like we do for programming firmware. The external testers can be fairly pricey, is there any in-between step?
