Part Number:CC3100
Good day,
I have designed a PCB with a STM32F4 and and the CC3100 wifi chip. I am using the FT2232H FTDI chip to program the STM32F4 and the UART (2nd channel) to program the CC3100 using the TI software.
For some reason the CC3100 does not want to start up. The TI software does not want to communicate with the CC3100 on my PCB, even though the TI software can program the CC3100 on a development board I bought.
I have double and triple checked the connections of the CC3100. I am basically using the reference design. I have measured all pins on the chip itself, and the levels looks correct. I can see data from the FT2232 arriving on the RX pin of the CC3100 chip. The XTAL pins doesn't seem to be oscillating. The reset line is correct, the AP pin is setup correctly for hte chip to be an AP.
Could someone please urgently help me?
What are the minimum connections one need to connect to get the chip going, i.e. what pins are the minimum to be connected and what are the signal levels on these pins?
Is there something one can check or measure to see if the chip has started up? Will the AP be visible perhaps?
I have already checked and replaced both the xtals, but it still seems to be dead.
I would like to try out if there are any suggestions before replacing the CC3100 chip.
I hope someone could help me. I have been battling for days now to get this chip going.
Any help be greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much in advance
