I initially used SPRS742I Figure 6-19(A) to design the connectivity between my Concerto device and the compact TI 20 pin header. I'm planning to use the XDS200 USB JTAG Emulator from Spectrum Digital. This link has a lot more detail about the connectivity. In the section Single Device Non-buffered Configuration, there is Note 5 about the series termination for TDO. It references SPRU655I . To be precise, it says to size the series termination in accordance with the device's TDO buffer. And it says " the output impedance of a device buffer can normally be determined from the device's IBIS model. TI document Emulation and Trace Headers TRM contains an appendix that provides instructions for extracting the buffer's output impedance from the device's IBIS model." I found the IBIS model for my part, but the buffer doesn't match the format of Table28 in Appendix H of SPRU655I. So, I can't find the output impedance of the buffer. My PCB trace is <1", and the cable is no more than 5". How important is it that I precisely choose this resistor?
